Atlas had smeared Hannah's blood in a few random places which would keep Jamie and the boss busy until nightfall, giving Hannah time to rest up and heal from the loss of blood and fall. She lounged on the sofa watching tv while Atlas fixed her up a meal with a chocolate shake. He brought over a tray ahd sat on the coffee table. It had a cheeseburger, fries, and of course the shake.
"Why the shake?" She asked staring at its chocolatey goodness.
"It will give you a boost of energy."
She nodded and started eating the burger. After about five minutes, she cleared the tray. She felt a lot better with food in her belly.
"So, I should get you a change of clothes." He took the tray.
"I held my boy...he was cold...like a corpse.." It started to hit her about her child.
"I'm going to tell you the truth about your child." He took a seat beside her.
"You are?"
"Yes. But be prepared, this isn't going to be easy for you."
She nodded slowly.
"The boss, he searched for a new child when the previous is about used up or drained of all life. A child is a value to the bosses' life for he uses it for not only bait to lure in fresh blood for his children but he feeds off the child's life force. The child is also under the bosses' influence so anything he says or tells them, they can't refuse or deny. So when he told Lincoln that you didn't want or love him, he believed it just like he's been told that his father is deed the boss. A child is pure and innocent, perfect source of energy. Around the time he turned Jamie, he was in need of a new child since the one he had was basically on her death bed. Jamie took the opportunity to tell him that he had just found out you were expecting. So the boss waited until the child was baked enough to survive outside the womb and had one of us steal Lincoln. And here we are."
"What about the baby that I supposedly gave birth too?"
"Huh?"
"I held a baby my mom claimed that I had through c-section."
"Lincoln must have had a twin. Cause there shouldn't have been a baby."
"Oh...so I held..I held my dead son...I had my mind so set on Lincoln being taken I didn't even think of the possibility of twins...I'm horrible.." She felt so sick and horrible that the food she just ate might come back up.
"You didn't know. Neither did we. But on the bright side_."
"What bright side? I lost both children..."
"He didn't die a gruesome death."
"Huh? But he did die."
"yes but if the boss took him too, he would have killed him as soon as he returned home. If the baby proved too weak to survive birth than he would prove to weak for the bosses' liking and he would have been drained of all blood on the spot. When the last of your blood is being drained, it's painful, very painful."
"How do you know..?"
"I been there, I know exactly how painful." He said grimly.
"Who was the previous child?"
"She was..she was my daughter.."
"Oh.. I'm sorry.."
"No it's okay, your in the same boat. Your lucky though..."
"How? I can't even see my child...I just found out how horrible I was not to grieve the death of my child.."
"Because you don't get to watch the life being drained from your child day by day for years until she had nothing left to offer..unable to do anything to save her... You didn't watch your son go through the same thing and there's hope for him." He assured her with a smile while placing a hand on her shoulder.
"How are you a vampire and not dead though?"
"He saw potential in me and he was low on men. He figured it be pleasurable to let me watch him slowly kill my daughter... Than I guess he felt sorry for me and didn't dispose of me afterwards."
"What about your wife?"
"She's not in any pain is all I'll say.."
She hugged him tightly to comfort him. He would hug her back and tipping her chin up to kiss her passionately.
"Thank you for helping me." He would say through the kiss.
"Anything for you, my dear." He started to kiss her roughly now but gently as he felt his vampire powers pulsing through him. Her hands began to wonder under his shirt, his rock hard abs cold to the touch. His mouth began to wonder down her neck, sucking on the skin which sent pleasure up and down her spine. His own hands started to feel up and down her back under her shirt. While kissing her neck he could hear her pulse and feel the blood running through her veins. He normally doesn't drink human blood but as famished as he and vampire nature taking over he just might drain her. He quickly pulled away from her trying to compose himself.
"What's wrong?" She thought she did something wrong or crossed a line.
"It's nighttime, we should get ready."
Her eyes widened at the sight of his eyes which were no longer yellow but blood red.
"I'm famished and I'm still a vampire. I'm not a mundane."
She nodded and relieved it was that and not something else. She had feelings for this man.
"Let's get ready than."
