They hurried through the woods, Atlas staying alert while leading Hannah. Hannah carried a sharp blade that Atlas had handed her. She held onto it tightly as they approached the edge of the woods.
"Stay here until I signal you to follow. They are close and I know they are tracking you." He started into a speed run toward the building across the road from the woods. He was so fast you could only see a blur. She waited a few minutes before she saw him waving her over. She took off across the road and stopped behind him. He would look around the corner to see the coast is clear.
"Okay, our plan is to make it to the abandon factory across town. It should be safe and well, abandoned." He smirked at his comment.
"I'm to stay there until sunrise?"
"Exactly."
"Sounds_" her mouth was covered as he shoved her against the wall. He was silent as he looked around. She tried to shake off his hand to speak but it was useless.
"Shhhh.... We're being followed.."
She stayed perfectly still until he removed his hand.
"They are very close...I can almost smell them..." His yellow eyes began glow as bright as the sun. That's when he pulled her away from the wall and shoved her into the alleyway as he jumped up and grabbed a hold of a small figure in a dark hoody like his own. He shoved the person against the wall hard which cause a girl's voice to yell out in pain. He jerked off the hood to reveal girl who looked no older than sixteen. She had shaggy black hair that was cut short and bright red eyes. She wore a black hoodie like Atlas, short jeaned shorts, and winter boots that stopped mid length at her knee and had on knee socks.
"So he sent the runt to track me down?"
"Actually her but you of all people to be helping this foolish mundane? Wait til the boss hears about this!" She giggled in a childish manner.
He shoved her harder against the wall which made her cry out in pain again.
"You really screwed yourself, boss won't be happy to hear the runt failed once again." He sneered.
"I'm not a runt! My name is Luna!" She growled while baring her fangs.
"To me your the runt because your too small to be a threat and too old to be a life source for the boss."
"You will think that when I tell the boss what you been doing! He thought you were being a waste as usual!"
"Waste? Haha that funny. I'm one of his stronger men who he usually calls when he needs backup. All you are is expendable and replaceable."
"Shut up!" She started to fight.
"Maybe I should kill you, your nothing but an annoyance and I'm not stupid enough to let you go, don't need a little brat running her mouth to the boss." His eyes began to glow as he bares his fangs, ready to bite.
"Don't! She's just doing what she's been told. She's still young." Her mothering instincts kicked in.
"Young? Young doesn't count in the vampire world. It's kill or be killed."
"Yes but your helping me and I should have been dead myself and without you I would be." She tried to reason.
"If I don't kill her than she's going to run off and run her mouth."
"Can't we tie her to a leash or something?"
"I'm not a dog!"
"Shut it or I'll kill you."
"Anything at all we can use to restrain her I mean she could be of some sort of use if she was able to track you down."
"Fine, the runt lives. I guess I can give my skills a try." He smirked as he looked her up and down.
"What are you going to do...?" Luna didn't know what he had planned.
"I'm going to inject some of my blood into you which will remain there. Than I'll activate a special seal that's on my wrist. It will not only create a leash connecting our blood, it will keep you from running off. When you do get too far your veins will feel like their on fire as my blood burns you alive."
"Will this be on me forever!"
"No, just until I decide to deactivate the seal abs it only takes an hour for my blood to disappear from your veins. Your my little pet til than." He would than bite his own palm, blood dripping. He than grabbed her own wrist as she struggled and bit it harshly causing her to wince until blood started to drip. He grabbed her wrist and squeezed until his blood entered her veins. He let her go after the process was done. She took off running as soon as her feet hit the ground. She very quick due to her small size. Atlas smirked as he pulled down his sleeve to reveal a seal with lot of detail tattooed on the inside of his wrist. He pressed the wound on his palm to the seal which began to glow yellow when activated. She than heard a blood curdling scream not too far in the distance. They both took off running toward the scream only to find Luna on the grounded in fetal position and her skin smoking. The pain disappeared as Atlas got closer to her which allowed Luna to get up. She gasped for air and looked herself over to find her skin wasn't smoking anymore.
"What did I say? Did you think I making it up?"
"I hate you!" She growled.
"Yeah well the feelings are mutual."
"Alright you two. Luna, your alive and not left to rot and Atlas, she can't snitch. Let's try to get along!"
"You have no clue the history between us." Luna remarked crossing her arms.
"Ditto." Atlas replied to the comment.
"Let's get to the factory! I'm sure that scream has caught the attention of some nearby vampires!"
"Yup and there coming this way as we speak." Luna smirked.
"Hang on!" He picked up Hannah bridal style and started to run at full speed toward their destination.
Luna started to feel her veins burn as he got out of range. She growled as she started to follow him. Hannah held onto Atlas tightly feeling like she was on a roller coaster. After a few minutes they were at the factory where they quickly ran inside and slammed the door shut and locked it.
"What now? This won't hold them and you know it." Luna pointed out while leaning against the wall.
"It's almost daylight. They won't try anything when they're vulnerable."
"Yes and so will we."
"Alright, Captain obvious."
Luna rolled eyes and didn't say another word.
"What are the plans then?" Hannah asked trying to lighten the mood.
"We stay here and we leave as soon as the sun peeks through. We have less than an hour."
"What about her?"
"Shes stuck with us until I decide otherwise." He smirked knowing this angered Luna.
"I hope the boss catches you and kills you slowly like he did your little brat!" She spat.
His eyes went dark as grabbed her by the throat and slammed her into the ground.
"Atlas stop!"
"Don't you ever bring up my child again! She was an innocent little girl who grew up knowing nothing but pain and how to be a puppet til the end! Her little boy is going through the same thing!" He said out of pure rage.
Luna coughed and moaned from the pain.
"Atlas she's not worth it!" Hannah grabbed ahold of Atlas and hugged him.
He sighed and let up ahd turned around to pull Hannah into an embrace. She reached up and kissed him on the lips. Luna scooted back against the wall and rubbed her throat. Hannah pulled away from Atlas and walked over to Luna. Luna just eyed her but not a bit threatened.
"Look! I'm the reason he didn't kill you then, I'm the reason he didn't kill you now! If you run that mouth of yours again like the brat you proved to be, I won't stop him a third time. If you have nothing nice to say than keep it shut!" Hannah walked back over to Atlas and pulled him toward the opposite wall where they sat down. He pulled her into his lap and allowed her to rest. Luna just stared at them while hugging her knees. She didn't know what to think at the moment. She ended up dosing off.
