Hannah woke up laying in bed in the cabin. She felt like a large truck had hit her hard feeling her whole body aching from the events. She wanted to just lay there but she had to go, no telling when Atlas or another creature of the night show up. Struggling to sit up, she wiggled herself to the edge of the worn out bed and stood up. She slowly walked toward the door and listened for sounds or voices. But there was none and Hannah took that time to walk across the room toward the front door. Opening up the door, she dashed toward the forest but was hooked by the waist and tossed back inside. She fell on her butt as Atlas walked inside wearing nothing but jeans and closed the door. He was very well built and his body was very flawless except for the scar if bite marks on his neck.
"Let me go!" She demanded feeling like a prisoner.
"I will when it's safe. Right now it's not with night fall around the corner and your in no condition to be running through those woods let me remind you will get you know where but tired or dead." He closed the door behind him. He wasn't lying, through the window you could see the sunlight slowly disappearing.
"Surely they know I'm here with that guy or vampire attacking me."
"That would be true if he could. I killed and disposed of him."
"Don't others know?"
"They know where I live at, just not that I'm keeping a human girl here. He didn't know until he smelled you."
"I want out of here. I want to put this vampire nonsense in the back of my mind and go back to how my life was!"
"You can't, you put yourself in the middle when you didn't accept the fact your child was suppose to be dead. You did this to yourself."
"I was being a mom!"
"Which means nothing."
"So what now?" She felt aggravated with everything, him, herself, and the fact she uncovered more than her son being alive. That she stumbled onto dangerous territory.
"You sit tight and do as I say." He walked over to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of orange  juice and a wrapped up sandwich from a local deli.
"What's this?"
"Food. You haven't ate anything today and you need your strength. Specially if you want those aches and pains to go away." He brought the food over to her.
"Why don't you heal me?" She took the sandwich, instantly hunger pains took over and she was destroying it.
"I can't if you have no energy. I use a combination of my energy with yours and that's how I heal you." He walked over to the window and looked out.
Hannah chugged down the Orange juice when all that was left was a wrapper. She leaned against the couch looking up at him.
"We will need to move, not exactly safe here anymore when boss sends my brethren to look for Jonathan."
"Who?"
"The guy who attacked you today. His disappearance won't go unnoticed and will check the last place he was at which is here."
"That will make you guilty..." She felt guilty herself.
"Yeah, well..about time I did something right." He put on a fake smile.
She thought back to those pictures and items. Wondering if she should say something about it or if that itself was dangerous territory.
"Full?" He asked her.
She nodded while standing up but almost didn't do to her back hurting.
"Alright, let me heal you. You really should be more careful." He walked over to her and pulled her into an embrace. He smelled of woods and his touch was cold which sided her to shiver. She blushed at the closeness, never being this close to any guy before other than the night her son was conceived. She felt his cool breath on her neck which instantly snapped get mind on blood, fangs, vampires. She started to jerked and push him away in fear of what he was doing.
"Hey! I'm not going to hurt you." He held her shoulders to keep her from running.
"You were going to bite me! I felt your breath on my neck!"
"No I wasn't, I was about to heal you. Just because I'm a vampire doesn't mean I bite every little thing with a pulse. Now stay still or you will be dead weight." He demanded. Calming down she nodded as he embraced her once again. But instead there was loud noises on the roof that startled her.
"Shoot! Too late!" He dragged her toward the bedroom. He walked over to the floor where a rug laid. Lifting the rug revealed a hidden trap door. She started to get nervous with the noises traveling down the roof.
"Get in here, stay still, no noise! I will get you when I convince them to leave." He pulled her over and helped her down into the hole. Once she was secure, he put a finger to his mouth to tell her to keep quiet. He closed the door and place the rug back on it. It was very dark and chilly but she could hear talking up above. She couldn't make out any words but it didn't seem good. Quietly she crawled over to where they stood to hear better.
"Jonathan never came home. He said he was paying you a visit and that's the last we heard from him." A woman's voice was saying.
"How should I know. I wasn't home."
"And this place reeks of a mundane!" She sounded agitated and it made her very nervous.
"Abandon looking cabin in the woods, I'm sure mundanes stop here often while I'm out." Atlas was doing a good job at having an answer for all her concerns.
"And the girl. No one has seen her. Boss went to her home after sending in the bait and she wasn't there. As if she knew what it meant for that boy to be in her home."
"You know I stay out of that stuff, Genny. I don't want involved in anything involving a child.."
"Get over that already! It was twenty-two years ago."
"Yeah well it seemed like yesterday that it happened." He said in a grim tone.
"Well, if you hear from Jonathan let me know. I'm worried sick." The female finally said walking toward the door. Crawling back to where Atlas put her, she knocked over a tin bucket that made an awful sound.
"What was that!" Genny asked listening closely.
"Probably an animal, raccoons are bad." He tried to stay calm and Hannah stayed still.
"No...its a mundane, the scent is strong toward the floor." She started to smell until she had her nose to the floor. Before Hannah could react, Genny had busted the floor and grabbed hold of her arm.
"I knew it!" She jerked Hannah out of the floor.
"Let her go!" Atlas bared his teeth at the female.
"No! Boss has been after her! You know how he hates when foolish little mundanes don't give up!"
"Let me go!" She pulled her arm trying to jerk or free but Genny's grip was like iron. Cold and won't let up.
"Boss will praise and reward me! I'll be his favorite little girl!" She smiled while pulling her toward the door.
Atlas grabbed her head and smashed it through the wall, Genny's grip letting go Of Hannah.
"Run!" Atlas shouted after her as Genny jerked her head free from the wall.
"You're so dead!" She growled as she threw Atlas across the room.
Hannah ran back to the bedroom and opened the window. She climbed out and started to run through the woods. She could still hear the fight from a distance and hoped Atlas was okay.

                             ~~~
She ran what felt like hours until she couldn't no more. She collapsed on the ground by a tree, her legs and back sending horrible pain throughout her body. She managed to get herself into a sitting position as she leaned up against a tree. Her breathing was ragged.
"Atlas...I hope your okay..." She whispered.
"Oh he is, but he's pretty hurt. You never make Genny mad." Without warning a ice cold hand gripped he neck tightly, lifting her off the ground and slamming her up against the tree. The pain was too much as she moaned in agony, tears streaming from her eyes. A figure wearing a hoody held her tightly, squeezing shut her airway.
"Jonathan was foolish to travel without backup. Genny wasn't. Hard to believe she choose an idiot like him for a mate. I stood back and watched. Didn't expect you of all the mundanes to come running out. So I stalked you, hard to believe as hurt as you are to make it as far as you did." His voice sounded very familiar but she could t place it. That's when he uncovered his face. Shaggy hair as back as midnight, bright red eyes that glowed in the darkness, pale face that had a blotchy red birthmark that covered half his face.
"Jamie?"
