I watch the couple at the table in front of me with sad eyes. Get over it, Lavender! He's just a friend. Friend. Friend...yeah...I should be supporting their relationship instead of being bummed over it. I see Melissa stand up, getting out of Kyle's grasp and makes her way over to the trash bin. On the way there, she bumps into a boy with black rimmed glasses, making her fall down.
I put a hand in front of my mouth, trying to stop myself from laughing out loud at the scene.
"How dare you!" She screams, stomping her foot on the ground and looking like a little child having a tantrum in the process. "Do you know how much my daddy paid for my brand new Gucci heels?! He can always buy more because we're so rich, but do you know what you did?!" She stomps her foot again and I see Kyle trying to tug her back to the table.
He finally managed to sit her down at the table and I watch him sigh. It makes me question how he even ended up with her in the first place. She doesn't seem like the type of girl he'd like to date. As the Kermit meme once said, 'but that's none of my business'

"Are we able to do something fun?" Kaitlin asks me and I nod my head at her.
"Sure. What do you want to do?" I ask her.
"A makeover!" She yells and I laugh at her.
"Ok, I'll try to do my best making you look like a princess."
"Who said anything about you making me a princess?" She questions me and I furrow my eyebrows at her. Uh oh.
I look at myself in the mirror in front of me, frowning. It's been awhile since I've actually worn clothes that showed my arms.
"Maybe I'll just put on a jacket in case it gets cold." I cough, reaching for my drawer to pull out a jacket and get stopped by Kaitlin.
"Nope. Princesses don't wear Jackets, they wear crowns." Kaitlin shakes her head at me while I pout at her. She maybe little, but she can sure be persuasive. She managed to stuff me into a puffy ball gown or to be specific a white bodice with a baby blue bodice skirt, puffy ball gown.
Kaitlin pulls a crown out of thin air, placing it on top of my head while I try to rack my brain for which princess I'm supposed to look like.
"Which princess am I supposed to be?" I ask her, waiting for her reply.
"You. You are your own princess, Lavender. At least, that's how I see you." She gives me one of her famous toothy grins.
"Why do you think of me as a princess?" I let my curiosity get the best of me.
"It's because you're always there for others without realizing it, you're fun to be around and you make me laugh, you're not a perfectionist. Also because you are you." She shrugs at me, going back to placing the crown on my head properly.
"Well, thank you lady Kaitlin." I do a little bow for her.
"Hey! That's queen Kaitlin to you!" She bops my nose with her fairy wand and I laugh at her. Forgetting about my arms showing, we manage to get down stairs and outside of the house. When I open the door, I instantly get hit with water. I open my eyes, seeing Ivory stand there with a mischievous grin on her face, I spit the water out on the grass that ended up in my mouth.
"You're so gonna get it." I narrow my eyes at her.
"Bring it on, old grandma! Try not to break one of your old brittle hips in the process!" She dares challenges princess Lavender?! I go back inside the house, grabbing the emergency stash of water balloons and going back outside with them.
I place the box down on the grass, grabbing a balloon and aiming for Ivory. I smile in satisfaction when I see her get hit by it. I pick up a couple more balloons when I see her grab the water hose, chasing me with it. Eventually, she sprays Kaitlin with the hose and she joins in on the fun with us. I laugh when they both catch up to me, spraying me with the hose and hitting me with water balloons.
I quickly take the hose out of Ivory's grasp and spray both of them with it, making them scream and run off. I smile at their retreating figures, just standing and enjoying the scenery around me. I feel the strange urge to turn around and when I do I see Kyle smirking at me.
"What are you doing here?!" I question him.
"Uh, I live here." He points to his house, leaning against the fence that separates each other's houses.
"I knew that..." I cross my arms over my chest, frowning.
"Never thought I'd see the day where you wore an outfit like that." He whistles lowly and shoot him a glare, trying to hide my burning cheeks.
"I didn't ask for your input."
"Yet, I gave it to you anyways." He winks at me and I merely shake my head at him. The girls come back again for round two and I see them both holding a bunch of water balloons in their arms.
"Ready! Aim! Fire!" I smile and just as they're about to throw the water balloons, Kyle's voice stops them.
"Come on Kaitlin, we have to go to Melissa's house for diner." He says and my face goes blank upon hearing her name.
"I don't like her! She's mean and rude and bossy. She's not fun like Lavender. I want to stay here with Lavender!" She whines and stomps her foot. This is the first time I've ever seen Kaitlin act like this. I would do the exact same thing too if I was her.
"What's your problem with Melissa?" Kyle sighs, dragging his hand down his face. She stays quiet for a little while, not answering him, only staying silent.
"I don't know..." She trails off, looking down at her feet as if they're the most interesting thing to her in the world. I can tell she wants to say something to him, but she won't. Weird.
"Come on, we have to go." Kyle waves Kaitlin over and she nods her head at him. I notice a change in her attitude as she walks over to me with a grim expression.
"Goodbye Lavender." She tugs on my dress a little and let's go, she turns around and waves to Ivory. I watch her walk over to Kyle and stand in front of him.
"I'll see you later, Lavender." Kyle comments and I nod my head at him, watching them walk into their house with a confused expression on my face.
I'll get to the bottom of this.
