After Kaitlin's little meltdown, Ivory and me gave her a big hug and played games with her until she was happy again. I'm glad that the least I could do was make her forget about Melissa and laugh for awhile. When Ivory and me got home, I explained to her why I didn't hear what Kaitlin said on the walkie talkie.
Ivory proceeded to tease me about Kyle and made my cheeks look like a strawberry once again. That was fun. Not at all! So Ivory explained to me that basically what Kaitlin said over the walkie talkie is what she said in her little meltdown. Poor Kaitlin.
The thing that gets to me the most is that Kyle didn't even try to say anything to his girlfriend. I would have preferred if he told his girlfriend to shut the hell up, but that's just my opinion. Also, Kyle could have answered himself instead of having Melissa answer for him!
I need to calm down. Lavender, you're a calm, cool, and chilly cucumber. Calm. Cool. Chilly. No! It's cool, calm, and collected...right? Oh whatever, I'll just get on with it already.
I don't understand how Kyle is dating a girl like Melissa. It makes no sense to me whatsoever and it completely blows my mind how he manages to keep his cool around her.
I open up the refrigerator and grab a can of whip cream, spraying it in my mouth. It's not my fault I love whip cream so much! I continue to spray more whip cream in my mouth, not seeing where I'm stepping. I feel something cold on the bottom of my feet, but before I can do anything I slip and fall on my butt. Is it sad to say I'm used to falling down in this house already? I'm so clumsy.
I look down towards my feet, trying to see what I slipped on and low and behold, I see my worst enemy ever! A freaking banana peel! I swear bananas will be the death of me in this household. Now I know how cartoon characters feel every time they step on a banana.
They get scared poopless!
"Are you for real?!" I yell out, shouting at no one in particular. Sage is probably checking out some hot guys at the mall. Lucky him! Violet is probably on a date with her boyfriend Alex. Ivory, she can be anywhere. She's probably trying to hide her rat tail in her room upstairs. Mom and dad are both at work, again.
It's really a big mistake my parents did leaving me home alone with a rat child. Rule 265, never leave Lavender home alone...she'll burn the house down. I can't believe they don't even remember the family rule book that has all rules about me not doing stuff...yeah, it's mostly about me...ok, fine! The whole thing is about me, but that's not the point!
The point is that today I'll make sure to get a picture of Ivory hiding her rat tail. I get up off of the floor, watching my feet and making sure to not step on any banana peels along the way. I tip toe up the stairs and end up outside of Ivory's room. I quickly open her bedroom door, bursting inside her room.
"Ah ha!" I shout, pointing at her and put my hand down. Mostly because I'm questioning what I'm doing with my life. Absolutely nothin! "I got you now!"
"Ok, you got me." She sighs and looks down at the book in her hands.
"I knew it! I knew it all along!" I do a victory dance in her room and try to do an air guitar solo. Buam!
"Just don't tell him I like him..." Ivory mutters and I stop.
"Wait what?" I draw the word out, looking at Ivory with confusion on my face.
"The boy in my yearbook..." She holds her yearbook out to me and I see hearts over some 5th grader dudes face.
"Who is he?" I question her, furrowing my eyebrows.
"A boy I met at recess, we played allot of games together and it was fun and all that stuff, but it's forbidden for a 4th and 5th grader to like each other." She says and I burst out into laughter. My laughter slowly dies down when I see she isn't laughing about it.
"That's stupid. Why aren't 5th and 4th graders 'allowed' to like each other?" I ask her. This generation of kids are weird. You're one to talk, Lavender. I am, aren't I?
"Well, it makes the upper class people look weak because they have a crush on someone younger than them." She mutters.
"Well Ivory let me tell you something, you get your rat tail behind up off this bed and prove to those idiots that it is possible for a 4th and 5th grader to like each other. After that, I want you to kick anyone's butt who tries to get in your way. Also, don't let anyone get in your way." I say to her.
"Thanks Lavender, but you should really listen to your own advice." Ivory comments and I cock my head at her.
"What?" I questions and watch her sigh, muttering 'dense.'
"I mean, the whole advice about not letting anyone get in your way. Technically, Melissa is in your way from getting to Kyle." She says and my cheeks heat up.
"T-that's a whole different scenario! Kyle's just a friend." I stutter, trying to get my point out across to her.
"Just a friend my rat tail behind! Remember Lavender, don't let anyone get in your way." Ivory winks and me and exits the door. While I stare at her confused as to why she left her own room. A couple seconds later, she walks back in.
"Get out. This is my room." She comments and I nod my head at her, walking outside the room.
"Wait a second!" I recall Ivory's words, rat tail behind. I hear her shut the door and lock it. I sigh, knowing I'll get her another time. I walk back into my bedroom while Ivory's words leave an imprint on my mind.
