I mean it sounds like something I would do. But yeah😂

Also, exactly 73 days until my B-Day! Whoop! (Yes, I counted)

Ever since that little scene happened on the front of my lawn, it has been in my power to find out why Kaitlin dislikes Melissa so much. I mean I don't like the girl either, but that's another story. So Detective Lavender is on the case!

I'm currently at Kyle's house because Ivory and Kaitlin are having another play date. I think Ivory is finally starting to make friends. They grow up so fast! I'm here because Kaitlin kept begging me to come over so that's that...

I pull the walkie talkie out of my pocket and make sure it didn't change the channel that it was on. Last time the channel changed on the walkie talkie was the day I found out that the GoldWeather's loved to do foreplay...it was very disturbing and traumatic for me. I hear a noise crackle throughout the other end of the walkie talkie and listen closely, outside on the Smith's backyard grass.

"So Kaitlin, that little scene yesterday sure was something." I hear Ivory on the other line. "Tell me why was it that you were so worked up?" She couldn't be more subtle could she.

"Umm..." I manage to hear Kaitlin mumble. "The reason I acted like that yesterday was because-" I can't hear the rest of what Kaitlin says.

"Boo!" Someone shouts in my ear and I scream. The best way to get out of the hands of a kidnapper is to do a front flip...on the ground. I lean forward so that my right shoulder is on the grass and push off with my feet. I fail and I push off with my feet again. I try again and finally do a flip. It's been awhile since i took Aikido.

By the time I lift my head up I'm breathing heavily. Way too much exercise. I look up and see Kyle in front of me with amusement written all over his face. Yeah, it's so funny to watch a girl do a hideous task, exercise.

"You're lucky I saw your face, I would have done a mean Aikido flip on you." I pause and point at Kyle. "You sir are lucky." He puts his hand out for me to grab and my eyes twinkle mischievously. I grab onto his hand and yank him down into the grass with me. Unfortunately, he ends up on top of me, making my cheeks burst out into the color red.

"I think I actually like this position." Kyle wiggles his eyebrows at me and I try my best to glare at him, hoping he ignores the tinge of pink scattered across my cheeks.

"Kyle, get off! You're too heavy!" I try to push the heavy elephant off of me, but no use! It won't work! Gah!

"Are you calling me fat, sweet cheeks?" Kyle gasps, feigning hurt. Oh cry me a river, you mother trucker.

"Yes, I am! Now get off!" I try to wiggle out from under his weight and just as I'm about to escape him, his arms cage me in! Someone wants a knuckle sandwich today. I huff and cross my arms over my chest. "You're impossible."

"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible." Kyle comments and I do a double take on his words.

"Did you just quote Audrey Hepburn?!" I ask him, shocked to hear what came out of his mouth.

"Not all jocks are stupid, Lavender." He bops me nose and I give him a flat look. "Hey, you're blushing." He comments and I start to fidget under him.

"No."

"You are."

"People blush because they're embarrassed not whatever reason you're thinking in your mind." I scoff at him, technically, that is true. I'm embarrassed to be this close to Kyle even when I have to make sure why Kaitlin hates Melissa. Melissa. Melissa! This is wrong! He has a girlfriend, he shouldn't be saying stuff like this around me or flirting with me.

"Kyle, please! Get up! I need to pee!" I lie, trying to plead with him. I watch him as he sighs and gets up off of me. I quickly dust myself off before going back inside the house to the bathroom. I close the door behind me and stare at myself in the mirror. Get ahold of yourself, Lavender. You shouldn't be blushing, he's just a friend and he has a girlfriend.

I sigh, turning on the faucet and splash my face, mostly my cheeks, with water, making sure it cools down before I go back outside. I look at the mirror for a couple more seconds and head out of the bathroom. When I go back downstairs, I'm surprised to see a guest here. Or should I say, a cheerleader? Melissa.

Kyle's arm is draped around Melissa's shoulder on the couch, while they watch TV. Exactly, how long was I in the bathroom for?!

"What are you doing here?" Melissa turns her nose up at me and I bite my tongue, making sure to keep my mouth shut.

"I'm babysitting Ivory and Kaitlin." I comment.
It's not a lie and it's not exactly the truth, but she doesn't need to know any of that.

"How cute, you're playing with little kids." She lets out a snotty laugh, gesturing to my grass stained clothes and my messy hair. I look over to Kyle, wondering if he's gonna put his girlfriend on a leash. I see him watching the TV intently, trying to ignore the tension that's hanging in the room. I sigh, turning away from him and look back at Melissa.

"At least kids actually like me." I retort.

"What's that supposed to me?" She narrows her eyes at me and I shrug, knowing she knows that I know that Kaitlin doesn't like her.

"I don't know, it can mean anything you want it to mean." I give her one of my famous 'innocent' smiles. I hear footsteps coming down the stairs and I turn around, seeing Kaitlin and Ivory standing next to each other.

"Kyle, can you play hop scotch with us?" Kaitlin asks her older brother and I see her look at Melissa wearily. Kyle goes to open his mouth and Melissa cuts him off.

"Honey, we have better things to do then play some childish baby games. Why don't you go with Lavender, seeing how much she acts like a little baby." She flips her hair over her shoulder  and I swallow, knowing exactly what she's trying to do. I won't let her win.

"Sure, I'd love to play your childish games with you guys." I smile down at both of them and we all walk out of the front door. I notice how Kaitlin stomps her foot with every step she takes.

"It's not fair! She's always taking Kyle away from me, she bosses me around, and is a big old meany. She likes hurting people who she knows are weaker than her, I hate her!" Kaitlin turns around to look at me and Ivory, only now do I see the tears coming out of her eyes and staining her cheeks.
