"He did WHAT!"
"Danielle could you not scream it's like 2am?"
"Sorry but... HE GAVE YOU AN F-ING PROMISE RING!" I glared at her.
Michael disappeared a half an hour ago, and I didn't want to wait and tell Dani in the morning, so I called her in my room and told her everything.
"I'm sorry I'm done now."
"Good..."
We were sitting on my bed, and Dani was practically screaming her head off. I didn't know whether she was happy for me or just in shock.
"I just don't know what I should do. I'm still really really hurt by what he did and said. I just don't know if I can trust him anymore."
"Listen. Before I would've said the hell with him, but now he really seems broken without you. I've seen him around campus, and I swear I've never been so sad for anyone in my life before. He walks around emotionless, and the party the other night... that's the first one he's been to in months, and I heard they had to beg him to go. It sounds like he really loves you."
"I know I know, but what about Luke? I care about him too."
"I know this is probably the last thing you wanted to hear, but eventually you are going to have to choose."
She's right.
I didn't want to admit it, but I was in love with the both of them, but I could only have one. I sighed, and then went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I sat on the counter while sipping my drink and rested my head on the cabinet. She followed me and stood in the kitchen doorway leaning on the wall.
"I'm sorry babe. I didn't mean to make you upset."
"No, you didn't. You're right. I just didn't want to admit that I would have to."
"How are you gonna choose? I mean, do you want to choose at all?"
"I don't know! I'm just a freshman in college. I don't know if I'm ready for big life commitments. I think they're at that point, and I'm not ya know? I'm only 18."
"I get that, but you said you loved both of them, and they both have hurt you in different ways, so why not do pros and cons?"
"Okay, but can I do this in the morning? I'm super tired even though I'm not gonna be able to sleep even if I wanted to."
"Yea girl, whatever you need."
She walked over to me, and gave me a hug once I jumped down from the counter.
"Now go cuddle with Josh. I'm sure your boyfriend misses you."
"Shut up!"
She crept quietly into her room and I sat on the couch.
*RING *RING *RING *RING
I ran to my room and grabbed my phone.
"Hello?"
"A-Alex..."
"Mom what's wrong?"
My mom spoke softly and started crying on the phone.
"Sweetie, it's your brother..."
