FLASHBACK BEGINS
"Alexis come on!""I can't run. I'm in heels!"
Next thing I knew I was off the ground and in Michael's arms. I nuzzled my head into his chest and listened to the sound of his rapid heartbeat. I felt safe and incredibly warm, although it wasn't physically, it was a warmth that could only be produced with undeniable and uncompareable love.
"Ok close your eyes."
I looked up at him and the cheesiest smile was on his face, and I couldn't help but become even more happy. I closed my eyes and he set me down before wrapping his arms around my waist.
"1...2...3"
My heart fluttered as I opened my eyes before butterflies erupted inside of my stomach.
"A house?"
A quaint house that was on a silent street stood before us that was painted white and had yellow shutters. Beautiful flowers and stepping stones made up the front yard, and I heard running water coming from the backyard. All of sudden every light in the house turned on, and I could see every piece of furniture in all of the rooms. I turned around to face Michael, and he stood there admiring the house.
"Michael this place is amazing, but why are we here?"
He took a deep breath before he placed his head on my shoulder.
"I want to live somewhere like this with you someday. I've always had the lavish things in life, and now I just want something quiet. I want to enjoy life and go on adventures, and not have to worry about expensive bills to pay, because we live in a house that could hold four families. I want to be able to buy you flowers and set them on our dining room table in a glass vase.
I want to go on endless shopping trips to find the perfect crib to put in our baby's room while hearing you rant on about which diapers to buy. I want you to force me to give up my motorcycle for a mini van when we have our first child.
I want to hold you when you cry the day you send them off to their first day of preschool and then college.
I want you to make me go to doctor's appointments when I'm 50 to get a check up even though I know I'm fine. I want to sit in a rocking chair on our front porch drinking a cup of coffee early in the morning before we come back out a few hours later to just sit and talk.I want to mow the lawn and watch you care for your flowers as if they were your second set of children. I want to sing happy birthday to you on your 50th birthday before you start getting delusional saying how old you are and how I might not want you anymore.
I want to go on walks down that path right there with you before I'm too old to keep walking. I want to go to work and come home at 3 on my lunch break just to see your beautiful smile welcome me home before I have to go back.
I want to set up candles and make you dinner and buy the best wine on our wedding anniversary. I want to repropose to you, because I'm sure the first time I do it won't be perfect. I want to resay our vows and buy you another wedding ring to put on your small fingers. I want to wait every morning an extra hour just so you can put makeup on to make sure you look perfect for me, even though I tell you every hour of every day how beautiful and flawless you are.
