Hinata and I sit on the wooden floor in the dance studio, my Ipod out as we listen to a song. I had been laying on my bed listening to the radio after my talk with Sasuke when a song came on and I crumbled as Taylor Swift sang about my life.
Hinata listens as she bobs her head to Taylor Swift's Trouble. She and I are helping each other with our routines. There is no doubt in my mind that Hinata is a good dancer, and what I need is a solid routine to get a good grade. So of course I would turn to my best friend for help, at least I can admit that I may need it.
She gets done with the song and takes my ear buds out. "Does this song remind you of Sasuke?" She asks looking at me seriously.
I nod. "Yea." I say quietly looking her in the eye. Even though it still stings when I hear his name I have refused to give him any power over me. The words that he spoke to me in the gazebo have left their mark and I wont budge. The thought of him makes me sick and I'm glad that it does.
She smiles at me warmly. "Alright that's what I thought." She says standing and doing some light stretches. "I'm going to be honest with you Sakura." Hinata says.
I get to my feet and nod. "Wouldn't expect anything else." I say with a small smile.
She nods. "Good. When I hear this song I get angry and heartbroken for you." She says gently.
I nod. I remember how that felt, and still does feel when I let it. Honestly it warms my heart to know that Hinata is angry at Sasuke for what he did. "I do to." I respond quietly.
She nods. "You need moves that will convey those emotions to the audience and to Miss. Yuuhi." Hinata says with a smile. "That's how you will get a powerful piece, you know how it's supposed to feel."
I nod and furrow my brow in concentration. "Okay, I can do that...I think." I say staring off into space. Okay, I have no idea how I am supposed to do that. Dance and conveying personal emotions to an audience, it really doesn't seem like much fun when I think about it.
Hinata chuckles. "Try and start out happy, and then make sure that the course of the song is dramatic. Like.....this." She says dropping to her knees and leaning back parallel onto the ground and then slowly drawing herself up, only to then throw herself forward.
I nod as I watch her. I know exactly what she's talking about I have chills just watching her. "I'm so glad I asked you." I say.
Hinata gets to her feet with a smile. "You're the one who picked a really good song. I'm glad you got it before anyone else did."
"Hey ladies, what's up?" A guy with dark unruly brown hair asks as he walks up to where Hinata and I are working.
"Hi Kankuro." I say with a weak smile. "Hinata is helping me with my dance routine. Wanna listen?" I ask offering him my ear buds.
He smiles kindly at me and takes them, placing them in his ears. I turn the volume down a little and then start the song. Kankuro nods along and then motions for me to turn it up. To our surprise he starts doing small dance moves like he's playing them out in his head.
"Very nice!" He nods handing me back my head phones. "Songs got a lot of power in it. You're going to be fantastic." He says with a grin.
"So how bout you, what did you pick?" I ask.
He laughs and scratches his head. "Justine Bieber Beauty and the Beat. But don't judge, dude's got some good songs." He says trying to defend his choice as he smiles sheepishly at us. Kankuro is a second year and he's pretty nice. He's the only guy that is in our dance class, which is cool and makes him pretty popular with the ladies. I pop my ear buds back into my ears and put my song on repeat. At least by the end of this year the song won't make me hurt as bad as it does right now.
