After three new nose bleeds, several dizzy spells, and some begging I finally got Kiba to sit at the counter and not move. He wanted to help make dinner but after the third head rush and nose bleed episode he decided that he probably should keep seated, I've decided that he probably has a mild concussion.
I set a fresh steaming stack of three chocolate chip pancakes in front of him. "See that didn't take too long," I say with the roll of my eyes.
Kiba rolls his eyes back at me. "Hey, I wasn't complaining. I just stated I was hungry." He says digging into his food.
I chuckle and push my stack over to the seat next to him and walk around to seat myself. I have just started to chew my first mouthwatering bite when there is a knock on the front door. I look up at the clock that reads 11:30 and frown. "Who in the world could that be?" I ask rhetorically, getting up and going to the door.
My heart drops when I see Naruto on the other side of the door, just as bloody and beaten as Kiba was. Why is he here this late, I groan to myself.
"Sakura, can I talk to you for a moment. Please?" Naruto says quietly not looking up at me.
I bit my lip, what do I do? I have known Naruto for a long time, and I don't have the heart to turn him away. I sigh. "Hold on one second," I say shutting the door and going back into the kitchen.
Kiba is looking at me darkly when I walk in. "I'll head out the back." He says getting to his feet.
"What! No, you don't have to leave. Just ummm hang out in my room for a few minutes?" I ask quickly. I really don't want Kiba to leave, I'm worried he may have a concussion and I want to make sure he's okay.
Kiba stops and raises an eyebrow at me. "Your bedroom?" He asks a smirk spreading across his face.
I roll my eyes walking over to him and grab his plate from the counter and quickly push him out of the kitchen and to the stairs. "Yea, like payback for when you lent me your room or something," I say.
He turns around and gives me his wolfish smile. "Oh please." I hiss at him with a smile. "You're so slow. Room at the end of the hall." I say giving him a gentle push up onto the first step. He chuckles and then retreats up and back to my room. I hear the door click and sigh.
I open the front door back up to see Naruto waiting there patiently, hands in pockets and head hung low. "You can come in," I say quietly stepping back to let Naruto in.
"It won't take long Sakura. I just wanted to apologize." He mumbles still not looking at me.
His face looks like it's in horrible shape, but I can't see clearly. I step closer to him and lift his face with two fingers to examine it. His face is a little worse than Kiba's and my heart sinks. Kiba would have done a lot worse if I hadn't begged him to stop.
I sigh at Naruto, taking his hand I lead him into the kitchen and make him sit at the counter where my plate is. "Here eat this. I'm going to go get some things to clean your face with," I say.
