I am in utter shock as Sasuke and I walk to my house. I still can't believe that we got on the main soccer team. I wasn't even going to try out until Sasuke pointed out that Inuzuka was going to be trying out. Now we are on the same team and even though I'm not excited about that I know that being a fullback is nowhere near the forwards so I won't be around him anyhow.
When I see my house in the distance I take off at top speed leaving Sasuke behind. I'm way to excited to tell my father and Jiraiya about my new position on the school soccer team.
I burst into the house and slip off my shoes. "Dad! Jiraiya! You guys home?" I call into the house.
"We're in the kitchen kiddo." The gruff ragged voice of Jiraiya calls from the kitchen.
I race into the kitchen to see my father and Jiraiya seated at the dining room table grading papers. "You will never guess what happened today after school!"
My father looks up at me with a chuckle. "I'm sure we will be finding out shortly with how excited you are." He says with a warm smile.
I grin at both of them and drop my bag on the floor. "I made the main soccer team at school." I announce jabbing my thumb into my chest proudly.
My father nods an approving nod while Jiraiya whoops and throws his hang up for a high five. "That's my boy. I knew you had what it takes." He grins at me.
I grin back and smack his hand hard. "Thanks Jiraiya." I say trying to ignore the sting in my hand.
"Idiot, you left the front door wide open." I hear Sasuke drawl from behind me.
My dad raises an eye brow at me and I laugh nervously scratching my head. "Sorry...I was excited to tell you guys about soccer." I say sheepishly.
Jiraiya laughs loudly and turns back to his papers, while my father smiles warmly at me. "Why don't you two go wash up and then get your home work out of the way." My father suggests turning back to his papers as well.
I sigh with relief and exit the kitchen and head to the bathroom to wash my hands and wipe some dirt off my face.
"Thanks for tattling on me for not shutting the front door." I mutter to Sasuke.
Sasuke chuckles one of his rare chuckles. "Your mother didn't raise you in a barn." He says leaving me in the bathroom and ducking into my room.
I grumble at his habit of always getting the last word in. That's typical Sasuke though. After I have washed up I find that Sasuke is hard at work at my desk. I go fetch my bag from the kitchen area and lay my books out on my bed before laying on my stomach and starting the long and painful process that everyone calls home work.
