36.) Going to the Mountain

I rummage through my closet looking for my overnight bag. Hinata and Sakura are going to be here any minute and I still haven't packed. Hinata invited us out to her parent's summer home for the winter holidays. Normally I would want to stay behind but Sakura's parents are out of town at a medical conference.

So I had caved and said that I would go. I mean it can't be that bad right? Wrong, Hinata invited Hana and Konan, four girls and one dude....I'm not entirely happy.

I finally find my overnight bag and take it to my dresser, shoving some socks and underwear in it before throwing a few t-shirts, some pajama pants, an extra pair of jeans, and some shorts for the indoor pool.

"Kiba, are you seriously just packing?!" I hear my sister screech from her room as I pass by it to the bathroom to grab my tooth brush, tooth paste, and shampoo.

"You pack your way and I'll pack mine." I yell back reaching back into the shower for my body wash. Hana can be so pushy when mom isn't around, and it really pisses me off.

"You know mom is expecting me to keep you in line while we are gone." Hana says from the bathroom door frame.

I jump and almost fall into the shower. "Jesus Hana, don't sneak up on me like that." I hiss righting myself and then pushing past Hana back to my bedroom. I can hear Hana snicker from behind me and follow me to my bedroom.

My patience with her is starting to wear thin, for some reason I'm grouchy today. Just when I'm about to turn around and yell at Hana to get the fuck out of my room I hear the faint knock on the front door. Saved by the girls, how ironic.

"Coming!" Hana calls, and I listen as she goes down the hall and into the living room to answer the door. I take a deep breath and imagine my annoyance exiting my body as I exhale. Rinse repeat. Last thing I want to do is snap at Hinata or Sakura for no reason.

"Kiba, are you seriously now just packing." The familiar silvery voice of Sakura comes from my doorway. I can feel the rest of my annoyance evaporate and roll my eyes at myself. Ever since I took care of her exam week, actually even back to when she brought me home from fighting with Namikaze I have noticed that my feelings toward Sakura have changed. I tried to fight the effect she has on me, but lost terribly.

"Nope, but on a good note it doesn't matter because I'm already done." I say proudly zipping my bag shut and grinning at her.

Sakura rolls her eyes at me. "Whatever." She laughs before heading down the hallway to the living room. "We got to get going if we are going to beat the snow storm coming." She calls back to me.

My grin gets bigger as I grab my bag and follow. Snow ball fight! I think I'm more excited about that than anything else. But hey I'm a guy so that's okay.

Sakura and Hinata are standing by the front door while Hana and Konan put their coats and shoes on.

"Damn it Kiba you're so slow." Hana complains loudly as I drop my bag to put on my coat on.

Once again I feel the urge to strangle Hana rise. Sakura glances over at me and as soon as our eyes meet the urge fades. "Yea yea." I grumble slipping my shoes on and grabbing my bag. "Let's get a move on." I say stepping out into the light snow. Now that all the girls are here and the giggling has started I have the aching feeling that the four hour car ride to Hinata's summer home is going to be torture.
