54.) Swamp Monsters

Ino wasn't kidding, the salt scrub took off all the dead skin leaving the smoothest skin I have ever felt behind. I stroke my arm lovingly as I sit closed eyed on the lid of the toilet as Ino applies my cucumber mask.

"Sakura, you can't move or I will mess it up." Ino scolds under her breath as she tries not to make a mess.

"I'm only breathing Ino." I sigh.

Ino lets a soft growl escape her lips. "And no talking ether." She grumbles. I sit still for what seems like another minute before Ino steps back from me. "Tada!" She exclaims.

I stand and walk over to the sink to look in the mirror. A green white paste is smeared onto just about every part of my face leaving me looking like something that crawled out of a swamp.

Ino sees the distasteful look on my face and sighs. "Your face will look much prettier once it dries and we peel it off." She informs me.

I nod and then smile. "Hey is it supposed to tingle?" I ask her as she picks up the large tub of mud that Hinata's mother gave us to use.

"Mmhm. Now spread your arms and legs out so I can coat you in mud." She instructs me.

I laugh and widen my stance to let Ino smear mud on the front and backs of my legs and then put my arms out so that she can do the same thing. "Try....not to touch anything." She says apologetic, like she has just figured out that the mud made doing anything difficult.

I wait and watch as Ino puts on Hinata's mask and then Temari's. I'm surprised how willing she is being now with all the girly things. Maybe she isn't as bad as her exterior is.

Once everyone has their mask on and is covered in mud we stare at our reflections in the large bathroom mirror. "We look horrid." Temari says slowly. "Can we go scare someone?" She asks with a smile.

"Are you kidding! I don't want anyone to see me like this!" Ino exclaims her eyes wide in shock that Temari would suggest something like that.

We leave the bathroom and head back to the bedroom with the intent of eating most of the candy we had bought at the drug store, but after five minutes searching the bedroom we still can't find it.

"If you lost the candy Ino I swear I am going to make you walk to the corner store." Temari glowers as we all head to the kitchen.

"There should be popcorn and snack in the kitchen." Hinata says with a smile going over to the cupboard and opening it up.

I look in at the bare shelves and sigh. "Or there is absolutely nothing." I say dully.

"Well that's just great. Guess we have to go to the corner store." Temari says triumphantly.

Ino groans loudly. "I am not leaving the house like this Ari." She protest crossing her arms.

I can't help but laugh at Ino. "Uhhh Ino." I say pointing to her now smudged shirt.

"Oh that's just great. This night couldn't get any worse." She pouts. "You know what fine, let's just go and get it over with." She says going to the door and slipping her shoes on.

The rest of us are laughing rather than fuming like Ino, but then again Ino always lets little things get to her.

Maybe it's because its dark and we can't really see a foot in front of us or maybe it's because we all are preoccupied with coming up with strategies on how to scare the people at the corner store, but none of us see the string that has been placed just outside the front door. Before any of us know something is wrong ice cold water falls on our heads from the right and left soaking us to the bone.

Ino shrieks from next to me and points out into the dark abbess of the front porch at a dark figure. Right on que we all step back only to be showered with...popcorn? What the heck was going on.

"What the hell is going on!" Ino shrieks my internal thoughts from beside me causing laughter to sounds all around us and the front porch light to flicker on revealing our attackers. Kiba, Neji, Lee, and Shikamaru. The smirk on Kiba's face says it all and I know this is payback for the comments from earlier today. Wow....real mature Kiba, but even as I think that I can't help but smile and shake my head. It's so him, and I realize that I love it.
