Chapter 2: Lunch

Evie POV.

(DIFFERENT CHARACTER PERSPECTIVE)

I sit down with my tray. SPAGHETTI DAY! It's cold and gross but what's better than a cold dish of revenge? I sit at an empty table because my best friend Savannah isn't here today! (Sarcasm everywhere) To make matters even better, my table is on the left of the table full of the popular boys sitting with of course, Mac.

I consciously pull back my long dark brown wavy hair and twist it into a bun hoping it would cope but the locks that are four inches higher than the rest seem to all fall out. Great. I will get Mac back for this if that's the last thing I do. I catch him staring back at me with that crooked smile all guys have but his eyes differ from the rest of himself like everything is a charade. I knew him well enough to know something bothered him. He was trying to hide it from the world that surrounds him. I start to feel embarrassed analyzing him as he does the same to me and quickly look away. He must have been teasing me with my new hairstyle. I could feel his stare to the back of my neck.

I don't know him anymore, I really don't.

Right then Kaleigh and Melissa sit down with the same cold, mucky spaghetti.

Melissa is another one of my friends. She has blond wavy hair and turquoise eyes and stands five feet and several inches tall. Kaleigh stands five feet and nine inches tall meanwhile I am five feet and three inches tall.

"Oh, what happened to your hair?" Melissa sweetly questioned. Melissa knows me so well. I swear it's as if she can read my mind.

"We have to wait for one more person" I state suspiciously scanning the cafeteria. I catch Halley from the corner of my eye. She's pretty with long straight brown hair that has gold streaks in it and brown eyes so dark they are almost black. She is five feet and six inches tall. I see she's about to sit at a table with all guys. Not that I would object because I would too, if I still had guy friends. But I need her for what I have planned. "Halley, get your ass over here" I scream. I sprint towards her. "Halley!" I wave while running towards her like an idiot while she is in the midst of a conversation with Matt. Who cares, Matt can wait.

"Oh, hey Evie" She says innocently.

"What are you doing? Remember what you promised?" I question her as I approach the table she's standing at. How can she not remember?

"No. What?" Halley asks.

"You promised you would sit with us! Come on!" I say grabbing her arm and tugging her towards the table where Kaleigh, Melissa, and I usually sit. She yells back to the guys at the table to say that she's sorry.

"Hey Halley," Kaleigh trills in her usual high pitched voice.

"Hey!" Halley says.

I sit down, Halley sits across the table from me, and Kaleigh and Melissa sit on the left side of the rounded table. "We're going to get revenge on Mac!" I tell the table. I look across the table and notice the same gross spaghetti on Halley's plate. Perfect.

"How are we going to do that?" Melissa asks.

"Spaghetti. Observe" I say taking a chunk of spaghetti and chuck it over to the table on the right where Mac just so happens to be sitting. Yeah right. I hit one of the boys, Jack, but sadly not Mac. Just as I turn my head a wad of pasta hits my back. All of a sudden the whole cafeteria broke out into a food fight. Melissa and Kaleigh ducked underneath the table using their trays as shields. I know I still didn't get my revenge and immediately grab my tray, stand up, and walk over to where I see Mac is standing. Halley surprisingly follows with a milk carton in hand. Oh Halley.

She whispered in my ear, "Are we going to dump this on you know who?"

"Duh. This'll be good!" We approach him as he's smirking at us. OMFG! What happens if I get in trouble, oh gosh. I gasp. Just as I'm about to chicken out Halley pours chocolate milk all over his head. What have I done?

Just then a teacher walks up. Mrs. Renolds, the nastiest teacher ever. Worse than Mrs. Dunner. I feel terrible for what awaits for Halley. Just my luck, the one time I decide to stand up towards the "bad boy". What do I do next?

"Mrs. Renolds" I say in shock.

"Evie Green, what's going on?" Mrs. Renolds asks.

"Nothing" I say too quickly.

"Ms. French, do you care to tell me?" Mrs. Renolds asks.

"Nope,"Halley says popping the p. French is Halley's last name FYI.

"She poured milk all over my head" Mac chimes in pointing towards Halley.

"I see. Now Ms. Green, what do you have to do with this?" Mrs. Renolds asks accusingly.

"She was attempting to throw pasta at me but hit Jack instead," Mac says.

How does he know this?!?

"Well girls, are you just going to stand here? To the principal's office" Mrs. Reynolds states. Well that was a cold dish of revenge in the wrong direction.
