Chapter 20: Ice Cream Day!

Evie's POV.😆🍦

I was so happy today was a half day! THANK YOU FOR TEACHERS DAYS! Since we had teachers day, we got out early. Me, Halley, Kaleigh, Melissa, and Mac were going to Forever Yummy, the ice cream place at the strip mall! Me and Kaleigh were meeting everyone there because I didn't have my car today. We only had one period left. Today Friday so it is a backwards day. So we have backwards days, where every class after lunch is switched, so I have science last period today.

I walked into science with Kaleigh and sat down. When Mac walked in I walked up to Mrs. Langley's desk.

"Ok, so our science fair idea is 'Do different breakfasts affect your learning ability?'" I said.

"That sounds good, you may sit down now" Mrs. Langley replied, writing down our topic idea.

I saw Halley and Melissa and went to talk to them. I walked up and sat down with them. Halley was wearing light blue skinny jeans, a blue mustache tank top, and bright orange heels. Melissa was wearing black, ripped, skinny jeans, a british flag, off the shoulder t-shirt, and british flag heels.

Science went by fast, we just talked about the Science Fair with our partners. Soon we were out of that horrid school!

After class, I met up with Kaleigh and we got our books. I hadn't seen her all day for some reason! She was wearing black skinny jeans, a pink and white t-shirt, and aquamarine, open toed heels. Me and Kaleigh walked out to her car and jumped in. Well, in my case hobbled out with my crutches. We drove to Forever Yummy, and waited to everyone else to get there. When everyone was there, we ordered our ice cream and sat outside.

"OMG! I love your outfit Evie! I didn't even realize what you were wearing!" Kaleigh exclaimed.

"Seriously Kaleigh!! How could you not!?" I say.

I was wearing white, ripped skinny jeans, a black t-shirt that said 'Paris' and then it had a heart and it said 'Je t'aime" and then blue, high heel boots with black straps over them.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention! Remember when I could never convince you to wear heels and skinny jeans?!" Kaleigh says laughing.

"Oh god! I don't even want to remember those times! No offense to anyone that doesn't wear heels or skinny jeans, but I looked horrible when I was little!" I say.

"No you didn't Evie! You looked fine, but you also look good now, if you know what I mean.." Mac says, at first serious, but then going back to his normal self!

"Thanks and I do know what you mean, and I know I'm just to hot for anyone to resist!" I say jokingly.

"You guys are so perverted!" Kaleigh exclaims!

"Kaleigh! So are you!! I mean you always want to have banana tacos! Also, aren't you the one that always stares at guys?? Huh? Huh? Yeah I thought so!" I say.

"Yeah whatever! Go away!" Kaleigh mumbles knowing I'm right.

We are almost done with our ice cream when I feel a presence behind me. I turn around and it's Hunter!

'Oh shit! I totally forgot about our date last week!' I think.

"Hello Evie, where were you on Friday? You missed our date!" He says angrily.

"Um-" I begin to say when Kaleigh cuts in.

"She was with me. I had a problem and I really needed her at the last minute! I guess she left her phone at home when she rushed over! I'm sorry!" Kaleigh says in a rush.

'Thank you Kaleigh!!!' I think to myself.

"Yeah, I'm so sorry Hunter! She needed me and I forgot to text you the next day!" I say, a bit guilty that I'm lying to him.

"Whatever!" He says, still angry, and stalks away.

"Omg thank you Kaleigh!!" I whisper because Hunter is still within hearing distance.

"What are friends for?" She says smiling at me.

We all finish our ice cream and decide to walk around the strip mall. Mac leaves because he doesn't want to shop with us, so me and the girls walk around and talk.

"Wow you guys are really close again!" Halley says.

It takes me a minute to realize who she's talking about but then I say, "yeah, we worked out our problems and agreed to be friends again! It was so much simpler than I thought it would be!" I explain.

After that, we wonder around the stores and talk about random things! Around 5:30 we are all about to head home for dinner when I have an idea.

"Hey, do you guys want to come over and have a sleepover?" I ask them.

They all check with their parents and they can all come! This is going to be so much fun! We all pile into our various cars and head over to my house. We walk in and go to my room while dinner is made. After about 20 minutes we head downstairs and eat dinner then retreat back to my room and watch movies. At 3 we end up falling asleep half on the bed while my TV plays Mamma Mia.
