Chapter 5: Shopping
Evie's POV. 👗
I woke to my phone playing "C'mon" by Kesha.
Shit! That was Halley's ringtone! I picked up the phone and said "Hello?"
"Girl, did you just wake up? You better not have because we are picking you up in 20 minutes to go shopping!" Halley yelled at me.
Crap! I totally forgot we were going shopping for this party tonight! "Oh hey Halley, no I didn't forget, I'm already waiting for you!" I lied.
"You better be Evie, cuz you know I won't hesitate to-"
"Yeah I know Halley! I'm ready!" I cut her off.
"Ok we will be there in 20 minutes" she said more calmly this time.
"Yeah, yeah bye Halley!" I said quickly, trying to get rid if her so I could get ready.
"Ok, bye!" she yelled knowing I was hanging up.
And I did. I threw my phone on the bed and ran to the bathroom. I jumped in the shower and took the fastest shower I've ever taken in my life and jumped out again. I threw on my favorite green shirt and dark blue skinny jeans and black flats. My outfit had to be comfy because we were going to be walking around and trying on dresses. I did bring my black pumps though because I needed them to complete any look with the dresses. I looked at my clock and I had five minutes! I grabbed my brush and ran it through my hair and brushed my teeth. Right as I finished, a car horn honked and I grabbed my purse, ran down the stairs and out the door, making sure to lock it behind me.
As I jumped in the car, all the girls screamed my name.
"Ahhhh! I'm right here you know! You don't have to yell and pop my eardrums!" I yelled back at the girls. Kaleigh was driving her silver Cadillac with 5 seats, just enough room for all of us. Like I said, Kaleigh was driving, Melissa was in the passenger seat, Halley was by the window, and Kaleighs sister was in the middle seat.
"Hey Kaleigh, why is your sister with us?" I asked
"Oh yeah, my mom was busy so she made me take her with us, sorry!" Kaleigh replied sounding annoyed.
"Oh ok!" I said. "Hey Rosie! What's up?" I asked Kaleigh's sister. I actually didn't mind having Rosie come along, she was a cute, nice kid.
"Hi Evie! Not much, I'm excited about shopping! It's so much fun!" She squealed.
"That's good, me too!" I replied. She kind of stopped talking then. We all chatted a bit during the ride but soon we pulled in to the strip mall's lot and parked. We got out and walked towards 'Beauty Boutique' the dress shop we always go to. It has an amazing selection!
We walked in and immediately started grabbing dresses from the rack. I grabbed a short dark green dress, a blue long dress, and a pink super short dress. I headed to the dressing room while the girls sat down. We had a routine, one of us would grab 3 dresses and the rest would sit and score it. Then the next person would go. Also the girls could get dresses for you too. I came out in the dark green dress and it got a 7, the blue got a 5, and the pink got a 3. Kaleigh walked into my dressing room and gave me the most beautiful dress. It was short but not too short, purple, (one of my favorite colors), and it had a sweetheart neckline with one over the shoulder strap and rouching! It was amazing! When I came out, all the girls were staring.
"What? What's wrong with the dress? You better like it because I love it so don't say it's ugly! I will kill you!" I said defensively.
"OMG Evie! It looks like it was made for you! It hugs all your fine curves and makes you look damn sexy!" they screamed.
They had a tendency to scream but I loved them anyways!
Melissa was up next and after 5 dresses, I pulled out a turquoise dress with one shoulder and tons of sparkles. I gave it to her and she loved it! Two dresses down, two to go!
Halley ended up getting a short, orange, strapless dress with tulle on the bottom and a silver design on it! It was perfect for Halley and she looked amazing!
Kaleigh went last because she was the groups fashion guru so we all needed her to give us an opinion on our dresses.
We all were looking for her dress when Rosie came up and started tugging on my sleeve.
"What do you need Rosie?" I asked.
"I found a dress for sissy but I can't reach it, can you get it for me Evie?" She said sweetly.
"Sure honey, where is it?" I asked and she led me to the most perfect dress I've ever seen! It was so much like Kaleigh, I knew she would love it! I got it down and brought it to her in the dressing room. She squealed and put it on. When she came out we all squealed again! We also have a tendency to do that as well!
The dress was a short, hot pink, sparkly dress with a sweetheart neckline. It had an open back too!
"OMG I love this dress! It's perfect!!! Who picked it out?" Kaleigh said.
"It was actually your sister! She had me get it down for her. I bet your glad you brought her along now aren't you?!" I said.
Kaleigh hugged Rosie and squealed again. We bought our dresses and walked back to the car to drop them off. Then we decided to go to our favorite place.....Forever Yummy! It's a pizza/ice cream shop in the strip mall. All the kids go there after school. We walked in and ate while talking about the party. When we were full we walked back to the car again and dropped Rosie at home because all the girls were coming to my house to get ready for the party.
It was 6:00 and the party started at 7:30 so we had only an hour and a half to get ready! We took turns taking showers again and then we did our makeup while our hair dried. I kept mine in waves, Melissa straightened her hair more, Halley left it alone, and Kaleigh curled hers. When we finished our makeup and hair we put on our dresses and examined ourselves in my full length mirror.
"Well, I have to say, we look DAMN GOOD!" I said. The girls agreed and we all slipped on our shoes and made our way downstairs. Mac sadly lives across the street from me so we all just walked to his house. As we walked up to the house, teens were already drunk and the music was pounding and I started to have a bad feeling about tonight.
