Chapter 12

I felt the loud disturbance before I heard it. Before anyone could say anything I shifted my position and felt the ground shake and tremble.

"That's where Scar was!" I heard the little girl called May say.
"Then that's where we're going." I grab Ed's flesh hand and gesture to Alphonse. I start running across the rooftops, jumping long distances as we change buildings.

I am slightly faster than both  of them so I just pull ahead. I enter the building quietly, listening through the cold, hard walls. I pick up a conversation between who I would assume is Scar and two others.

As silently as I could I lead the Elric brothers through the long corridors and hallways, eventually reaching the room in which Scar and the others were fighting.

None of them had noticed me or the two boys behind me. I stood in a stance where I was in front of the boys, using my arm to block their path. I was ready to defend them if needed, but I wanted to study my three opponents for a bit.

I turn my head back to Ed, as if to look at him.
"I'm not getting involved with them unless I have to, don't make me have to." I say menacingly to them as I drop my arm and let them into the room.

They fought for a little while, and I was surprised by how quick Ed was on his feet. I guess he was surprised as well because one of the chimera caught him in the middle of his celebration.

My face hardened, I might have to step in if this continues. Luckily the two wrapped it up quickly and major Miles came in soon after.

We all debated over what would happen to all the people involved in this. I turn my head to Scar and move closer to him.

"(Y/N), he's dangerous." Ed said warningly.
"Don't you think I know that?!" I shoot back.

Was this really the man who killed so many innocent people? and that girls parents?

I just frown and move closer. Without warning I kick him in the jaw. Everyone is speechless.
"Scar, I want you to know that I am more powerful than you. And right now I could take your life." I say, crouching down to his level.

"But I won't, because I need you to do something. Apparently you can help translate Alchemic notes for some people, and I will see to it that you do. But I also am under watch, and I need to escape." I turn over to Ed and tilt my head thoughtfully.

"Scar needs to kidnap me!" I say with a cheerful smile.

The room erupts into protest, most of all from Ed and Al. But I have made up my mind, and after some arguing they, begrudgingly, accepted.

"I still don't like this." Ed turns toward me. "You don't have to like it, Ed. But it's going to happen either way, and I have to get away from the military. You know that." I walk closer to him so we are face to face, our body's close together.

"I'll be okay. Do you doubt I can take care of myself?" I ask him. He chuckles, "No, not really."

I step closer and wrap my arms around his shoulders and pull him into a hug, my head nestled in the crook of his neck.

I hear his heart beat faster.

"I'll come back, I promise." And with that I pull away and walk over to Scar.

"Let's do this."

It was staged perfectly, and Kimblee bought it -ish. Anyone who knew me well enough would know this was fake, but nobody did, so I was home free.

*le time skip*

I walked with Scar and those people for awhile, and then I decided to part ways with them. I need to get to Winry before the Military does. I know she works at a shop in Rush Valley, the land of automail.

But first, I need to check up on an old friend.

I was getting off my train and somebody bumped my shoulder.
"Hey, watchit' buddy." I snapped and I was pushed to the ground. I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder as it was cut.
