Officer Howard kick the door down until it break and fell to the floor. With cautions, they step inside and hold their gun up, pointing it to any possible corner and target.
Officer Steve check every corner and door in the house and when he reach a door that seems to lead down like a basement, he slowly trudge down the stairs.
Keeping his focus on alert and keeping his eyes on every corner of the room. When he reach to the bottom of the stairs, he quickly let out a breath of relief.
Finally, Edward. He slowly and carefully walked to the little scrawny boy sitting on the bed in case the piece of shit is still here.
After Benjamin disappear, Eddie had put his clothes back on and just sit on the bed. His mind blank. His toes and fingers were trembling from sudden emotion that erupted in him from nowhere.
"Edward." Officer Steve called.
Edward look up to Officer Steve in suprise. This would be the first time ever that he saw another human after a really long time. Just when his thought about finally getting out of here finally gathered, he ran to Officer Steve and jump on him. Edward hug Officer Steve's neck as tight as he can and wail his heart out. Pouring his emotions in the arm of a stranger.
Officer Steve tough in a state of shock, hugs Edward back.
"You're okay now. You're fine. Everythings gonna be okay." He whispers the word with care. When they were embracing, Officer Steve eyes had caught the small door on the side of the room.
Whatever that door is, Benjamin surely had escaped. If he does then he would still be around the area.
When Officer Steve heard footsteps coming down the stairs, he ordered his men to search the perimeter and look around the forest cause god knows, he wouldn't have escaped far.
After a few more minutes, Officer Steve carefully let go of Edward's hold. He look at Eddie thoroughly and could see that the boy have been suffering. His body is nothing but bones and his eye bag were the colour black.
That sick bastard. How can anyone live to do such thing?
"Edward, are you okay?"
Edward nod his head while looking to the ground and wipe the remaining tears forming in his eyes.
"I'm just really hungry." Confessed Eddie.
At this point, Officer Steve's heart felt like they were ripped apart.
"Okay. Let's take you home. But first, let's take this collar of off you."
At the mention of the collar which he had clearly forgotten, Edward had screamed his heart out.
"No!!! You can't!"
Officer Steve eyes were wide awake when Edward act hysterically.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"Its...its a detector. If I leave the house, its gonna ripe through my neck. I...I can't leave the house. You need to take it off right in here." Said Edward in a state of panic looking back and forth at Officer Steve and Howard.
Officer Steve scoot closer to take a good look at the collar.
This is really sick. He thought to himself.
He touch the side of the collar which looks like it need some kind of a fingerprint spot.
"Shit!" Officer Howard who had been standing there all along cursed out loud. "What are we gonna do?"
