Amaryllis Roman
So the hickey I got the next day was anything but small. I spent all of lunch Monday morning avoiding Nike's never ending questions.
"Woah Lis, what the hell did you do last night? Or should I say who?" Nike asked during lunch. I scowled.
"Wow Nike your actually talking to me now?" Nike sighed as she put her sandwich down.
"I'm sorry...If I over reacted, I know I can get really angry sometimes. And...and if your not ready to tell me what's going on that's fine, I shouldn't push you and I feel really bad." Nike said sincerely.
I knew she was serious about the apology, Nike rarely admitted that she was wrong.
"It's fine. I was exactly being the nicest friend was I? Completely ditching you the past few days huh."
She huffed in agreement. I smiled, there's the Nike I know and love.
We finished the rest of our lunch in comfortable silence until the lunch bell rang. We threw out our lunches and parted ways as I headed for my third period class and she headed for hers.
I scurried out of the caf as I battled with the sea of students all rushing to their class.
Finally a shove in the stomach and a few trips later I walked into French class.
I took my seat as Mme Twice closed the door."Alright, so since I'm going to be explaining your mid semester project, I don't want any confusion so I'm going to explain it in English." I groaned. Here we go.
"This is a partner project. You will have all of class today and tommorow to work on it. You will be presenting the following day. I have chosen your partners, you can't switch so don't even think about it. Now, your task is to complete a presentation on any francophone nation in the world. You must bring food of the culture and must dress in the fashion acceptable in the nation. Understood?" There were a chorus of yes as she began reading the partners aloud.
Great! Now I have to put up with some obnoxious idiot who probably wants me to do all the work.
"Amaryllis and Alex." Mme called out. I lifted my head looking around until my eyes connected with a blonde haired boy with green eyes. I awkwardly waved as he grabbed his books and sat down beside me.
"So, me and you huh?" He said. I groaned. He was one of the popular guys on the football team. If he expected me to do all the work he was sorely mistaken.
"So Amaryllis what d-," but I cut him off.
"Look Alex, before you say anything. I'm not doing all the work, if you expect me to then sorry to shock you but I'm not pulling all the weight for this project." I said making myself very clear. He looked at me with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
I scowled.
"You have a very stereotypical view of jocks don't you?"
I shrugged. Yea so sue me?
"I'll do work. I was actually born in France."
"Oh. Well good for you." I said.
"Yea, so I have practice tommorow morning and after school, and at lunches I have swim meets. So I'm pretty much booked for the next week which means we have today after school and tommorow in class. I suggest we find each other after school and start working." I nodded.
