Amaryllis Roman

Our French presentation went much better than I expected. I didn't crash and burn when we were presenting, although I did stutter a little bit.

Alex saved my ass though and threw in a few improvised lines. All in all, it went pretty smooth. The next two days went by with Nike as a no show and lunch with Alex everyday. I wasn't complaining though, I mean his friends were really entertaining, but I was starting to miss Nike, but I also wanted to smack her upside the head for disappearing on me.

The questions still remained as to why she so uncomfortable with Alex and his friends? I mean they were the populars, but me and her were never ones to care about status. I just hoped she would show up today so I could talk to her, I mean she can ignore my texts but she can't ignore me if I'm right infront of her.

I woke up Friday morning determined to talk to both Nike and Death. If she didn't show up today I was prepared to drag her out of her house and force her to talk to me. And as for Death...I would seek him out after school, and get my answer about the little girl, for my date Saturday with Alex. I hadn't the slightest Idea how to call on death, or more like I didn't know what to say to him when I saw him. I couldn't just casually bring up the little girl, and the only other thing we had to talk about was....was the kiss.

I groaned. What was I suppose to say? How was I even gonna bring up the kiss? He's Death for crying out loud, why would he be interested in a awkward 17 year old girl?

"He wouldn't be Amaryllis stop kidding yourself." I reminded myself, throwing on tights and a cropped hoodie.

Well, atleast is was the weekend. I grabbed my bag and my keys when my phone suddenly pinged.

I should really change my text tone, it was getting annoying.

"Wanna be a rebel and ride a motorcycle to school?"

I smiled.

Alex.

"Can I drive?"

I asked.

He replied almost instantly.

"I don't wanna die princess, but I could teach you."

I laughed.

"Fair enough, pick me up in 10 minutes, you know my address right?"

"How could I forget?"

Haha, I'm sure my house was ever so memorable.

I shoved my phone in my bag and walked downstairs sitting in the kitchen. I grabbed myself a mug and poured some left over hot chocolate for myself. I got really thirsty in the morning and always craved something sweet.

I heard shuffling upstairs and then a thud as I saw my mom come down the stairs in an especially pretty dress.

"Plans today?" I questioned her. Mom looked up and blushed.

"Dinner actually, you can order yourself some pizza, I left you money on the fridge." I nodded just as the doorbell rang.

"That's for me. Alex is picking me up today, so I'll see you after your date then? I'm expecting details." I said grabbing my mug and my bag.

"Slow down honey, can't I meet this boy?" Mom asked hands on her hips.

"Um...Maybe next time? I'm getting late." I said biting my lip. She gave me the stink eye, but then gave in nodding and grabbing herself some coffee. I smiled kissing her on the cheek and running out the door.
