Amaryllis Roman
Death's body stopped shaking only to a dull hum, as the fire now only resided in his hands. The heat still as unbearable as before.
"I'm not dying. I'm Death." He said with a hint of hesitation.
"That's sounds a hell of a lot like denial to me." Death scoffed. He then narrowed his eyes and stalked towards me. He stopped only a foot away, and raised his arm hurling it at me.
I gasped and fell to the ground covering my head trying not to scream.
"I wasn't going to burn you." He said in a bored tone.
I sniffed and looked up at him. He pointed behind me to the recieptionist Linda who's body was lieing in a lump on the floor.
I started hyperventilating as I ran to her side.
"What the hell?" I said whipping my phone out. Let's hope this 911 call was better than the last.
"Amaryllis stop." Death said grabbing my arm and hauling me away from the body. I was just about to yell at him asking him who the hell he thought he was, until Linda's body started vibrating.
Linda's hands were becoming more and more transparent with every second. Suddenly I felt a breeze in the room whip past my neck as it started to grow stronger.
But we're inside?
The breeze had turned into a full fledged windstorm, so strong that I could barely keep my eyes open. They were burning so much.
The wind circled Linda's body as it began to rise until it slowly started decomposing. I could see her eyes, organs, clothes everything slowly breaking down into nothing but ash.
But it wasn't over.
The strong wind almost knocking me off my feet, circled the place where her body once lied and pushed the ashes into the air. It felt as if time stood still for a moment, where the ashes froze into mid air, before it slowly poured down on me and Death.
Almost like rain.
Ew.
I sucked in a breath grabbing onto Deaths arm.
"S-s-sinistram." I said with a mixture of disgust and fear. He eyed me wearily until slowly but surely he nodded.
"She was stationed here... to spy on you I suppose."
"Why on me?" I asked curious. Death groaned as he rubbed his temples together and pulled at his hair.
"Your a resistebat first of all which makes you crazy valuable. Second, dear old Chaos payed you a visit spilling the most ancient of secrets to a mere human, which makes you a target for the sinistrams and the Angels. Judging by the nice Death she just received she was sent by the good old Angels. Your so much more trouble than your worth." He said slightly bored, while I grew irritated with every word that came out of his mouth.
"Ok what's your problem? It's not like I asked Chaos to tell me anything, and last time I checked you protect us mere humans so if you think we are below your standards, maybe you should just remember that you serve to protect us, that makes you our dog, humanity's dog." I spat sick of his attitude.
"And what the hell is a resistatwat anyways?" I said huffing. Death looked like he was about to loose his head. He reached out and roughly grabbed my shoulder as he slammed me against the wall.
"I am no ones dog. I could kill you anytime I want. Your life means nothing to me, so the next time you want to pick a fight with Death, I suggest you think twice." He said releasing me.
