Amaryllis Roman
"Excuse me." The petit red headed librarian said.
"Havoc." I repeated.
"I wreaked Havoc." I said truthfully. The red head sighed putting her hands on her hips.
"Your not very funny." She said sternly.
"Miss I'm going to have to ask you to leave." She said a little louder.
"No, please you don't want to do that, it was a simple mistake." I said.
"I'd call flipping a table over and causing a ruckus more than a simple mistake." The red head scolded.
"I apologize but I'm not leaving. I don't want to fight either." I said tired.
"I'm afraid I'll have to call the police if you continue to act this way." She said grabbing her walkie talkie from her hip.
I turned around to look at her and gave her a stern glare.
"I'm not leaving so go back to your desk and we can pretend like this never happened." Her face tightened as her eyes grew large with rage. I knew a scolding was coming.
"Leave." I said again in the hopes that she would listen. This time her face scrunched up in anger, as she narrowed her eyes.
"Please." Her face instantly relaxed and her bottom lip started to quiver, her glare was replaced with a blank stare as she tilted her head down and her eyes sharpened. I peered into her face and saw that her pupils were dilated, she slowly started to nodded as her nose bunched up.
"Ok miss, goodbye." She said like a drone, turning around and walking away.
What the hell?
"Bye." I said confused.
What did I just do? Did she seriously just let it go? How did I do that? I'm not a supernatural.
But I am a resistebat. Surely that doesn't mean I have powers of my own? It just means Im immune to everyone else's.
Maybe...maybe there was something in the book!
I dropped to the floor where the book lay discarded and flipped through it searching for anything on resistebat's.
Ah ha!
"Resistebat is a very rare species of human, who are immune to any and every forum of enchantment and/or magic.
They are considered of a different species because of their unique molecular system and extra set of chromosomes. Resistebat's have an extra layer of skin that is almost impenetrable, and shed all other layers as their 18 birthday nears.
Resistebat's have hightened hearing and amplified strength. They can bestow their gifts onto others when need be, and can also protect others by inflicting their own gift onto them.
This trait is hereditary, but only in every other generation, it is more rare to find a male resistebat than female. With the proper training resistebat's can be lethal to the supernaural world creating all kinds of havoc, without facing the consequences.
No magic not even the magic of the Angels themselves can hurt or kill these individuals. However resistebat's without training are very easy to harm and even kill due to the suppression of their gifts.
Resistebat's can master the following gifts,
-Compulsion
-Shapeshifting
-Language of the wild (animal communication)
-Mimicry (mimic others powers)
-Very Rare: control over the elements
-Wall crawling (sticking to solid surfaces)Most resistebat's master no more than 3 gifts, due to the intense training and time each takes to learn.
Before mastering any one gift, these individuals must learn how to activate their restistenace gene in order to become immune.
If encountering a resistebat proceed with caution and avoid at all costs. Resistebat's are identifiable through the texture of their nails. Normal humans have pink yellowish textures but these individuals have unusually pale fingernails with tints of white, will usually be diagnosed as a child with clavum insolita syndrome also known as CIS."
I gasped pushing the book away from me. I was diagnosed with CIS when I was a child, it was considered very normal for most kids to have but I was the only one in my town who was diagnosed with it. I was bullied immensely because of it, that's actually how I developed my slight stutter.
So this meant that I had the power to develop all these gifts. I smiled.
I could shape shift.
More importantly I could protect myself. I could actually stand a chance against these supernatural threats, I could defend myself against the sinistrams.
Against Mali...
I hadn't even met the psycho bitch yet and she already tried to kill me. Before I couldn't do anything about it, but now, now I know I can.
I just had to find someone who could teach me.
If I asked Chaos Death would surely notice. But If not him then who? There was no way I was asking Havoc for help but what other Supernaturals did I know?
Aside from Death and the others I only knew Mali and Sebastian and I think they wanted to kill me more than help me.
On Top of that how was I going to keep Chaos unsuspecting for two weeks? How could I keep him away?
I sighed.
I wasn't going to come up with any solutions on an empty stomach, nor without sleep, that I knew for sure.
But could I sleep again? Would she invade my dreams once more, and this time succeed in killing me.
I shook my head. There was no point in thinking the worst, that would only leave me an anxious mess, more than I already was. First things first I needed sustenance and a mood change.
I hauled the book into my arms and placed it in the corner securing its spot on the shelf. I grabbed my bag and keys knowing just who to call.
