Amaryllis Roman

We drove for quite sometime along the desert like road, listening to an assortment of music.

One thing I didn't know, was that Alex was a huge country fan. Now I wasn't the biggest country listener and he wasn't crazy about Kpop either so we stuck to R&B throughout the entire car ride.

"You sure you don't wanna give it a shot?" I asked.

"I have many songs." I said waving my USB Infront of him. He smiled and shook his head.

"No thanks." He said chuckling.

"So are you going to tell me where were going? We've been driving for almost 30 minutes." I said restlessly.

"Anticipation is part of the surprise." He said smirking. I sighed.

"Can you atleast tell me if we are almost there?" I said turning to look at him.

"Look to your left." He said turning his indicator on. I looked in the direction he was pointing at and gasped. Alex turned into the lot and parked in the closet vacant spot turning the engine off. He unbuckled his seat belt and slipped out.

I followed in suit and shut the car door behind me.

"You did not take me to a race track." I said shrieking. Alex laughed covering his ear.

"My cousin runs it, he gets more business at his auto shop this way. The cars that loose the race always need serious repairs and his shop....doesn't ask questions." I nodded my head as we walked towards the track our footsteps crunching on the uneven ground.

We approached a group of men on the side of the track surrounded by cars and bikes. I smiled.

"Alex. Is that you?" A man who looked to be in his mid 30's walked towards Alex. Alex gently put his hand on my lower back and pushed me forward.

"Rain, how are you?" Alex said shaking his hand. Rain shrugged his eyes shifting to me.

"I'm good, everything's good. Now who's this beautiful girl, little cousin?" Rain asked smiling, a little too brightly if I might add.

"I'm Amaryllis." I said extending my hand. He took it and laughed

"That's an odd name." I scoffed.

"Well I'm a quirky girl." I said glaring at him. Alex cleared his throat and rested an arm on my shoulder.

"Anyways, Ive come because princess over here, has a thing for motorcycles. I was thinking about takin your old one off your hands. I could teach her here then buy it from you." Alex said.

"I am going to buy it. How much are you looking for." I said pushing Alex away. I was going to pay whether he liked it or not.

"Oh for you honey, absolutely free." Rain said.

"As appealing as that sounds I'd really like to pay something." I said putting my hands on my hips.

"Why don't you follow me to the garage." Rain said ignoring me. I sighed as Alex pulled me along with him, heading opposite of the racetrack.

Now I don't know if this classifies as a garage, because it was a beat down shelter with lines of bikes along the side. There was mud everywhere and broken windows on either side.
