Amaryllis Roman

"Jimin?" I questioned.

A chorus of 'shut up's' rang throughout the table as Marika slapped me on the back of my head. I cringed and shrank back.

"What the hell?" I half whisper half yelled at Marika.

But Apparently I'd said that a little too loud, because Taenia's head snapped up and she fixed her gaze on me.

"Sorry what?" She asked. I panicked looking at the girls for help.

"Women...She said it's hard to be a women." Nike suggested.

"That doesn't even rhyme with Jimin!" Alex whispered to her.

"It is hard." Bom chimed in.

"Like women give birth, that's so painful." Krystal added nervously.

"Not to mention our menustration cycles, guys would never survive that." Solar said.

On the uncomfortable topic of periods, Taenia's eyes lost its suspicion.

"Agreed." Josh and Vernon said. Taenia sighed drifting off again.

"Crisis averted." Suho whispered.

"Crisis?" I questioned.

"You don't want to see Taenia mad." Ailee warned.

"It's...not pretty." Alex whispered back.

Ok?

"Not to self, don't fuck with Taenia." Marika laughed and saluted me.

I smiled as the conversation around the table started to pick up again.

"I don't think you need anymore things to stress about Princess." Alex said. I played with the hem of my shirt before looking up at him.

"What happened between them? I mean she looked like she'd seen a dead body or soemthing. And Marika, holy shit she scared me with her glare." I shivered just thinking about it. Alex sighed.

"No one at this table wants to hear his name." Alex spat.

"What the hell did he do?" I questioned shocked at the venom in his voice.

"Not my story to tell." He said leaning back in his chair.

"I just hope she gets over him soon." Alex whispered.

"Amaryllis, you wanna go to the third floor a little early? I know you have to grab some assignments for French, and I need to grab my portfolio." Taenia asked, lifting her head off of her shoulder. I nodded unsure of what to do.

As I started to stand up, I caught Krystal's eye from the corner of the table and she gave me a slight nod, like she was approving my decision.

Marika nervously waved goodbye, her unsurety of the situation throwing my nerves into overdrive.

It became increasingly obvious they were hiding something. Everyone shared a knowing look, which caused my curiosity to grow more and more. Taenia stood up and motioned for me to follow. I smiled half heartedly as we made our way out of the cafeteria and into the hallway.
