Chapter Forty
(Miracles in December)
May 20, Friday (month seven)
Kyungsoo's POV:
It was finally friday, one of the happiest days for Kyungsoo. Kai was due to come home from work in three hours. In the mean time, he was on the couch, his legs crossed over, and a bowl of popcorn on top of his belly. It was big and round enough for a plate to be layed on top.
Mr. Kim was besides him watching a baseball game from his black ipad, earphones on both ears, and a beer by his side. He was kind enough to let his favorite kid get what he wanted, like right now, watching korean dramas from the smart TV.
Despite being disappointed on Kyungsoo, his love for his son would never die. He was still proud on what his son had achieve, he just hated the way he could of jeopardize all that he had worked on based on young love, not that he believed that theirs wasn't.
He actually did. And matter in fact, he is glad that Kai is going to be his son in law instead of some other jackass that would of have left him to take care of his children on his own. He's so thankful for that boy; Kai has stood there for everything. Even though they are too young to have kids, he's happy to be a grandfather.
Kyungsoo in the other hand had no clue that his father thought that of him. In reverence to his father, he felt like he had disappointed him in so many levels. Not that it matters anymore to him, but if he would of not have ended pregnant, he would of had enter a prestigious school such as Yale. His GPA is one of the highest that a student had ever had in his school so there was no denying that he is one of the best.
Well he was one of the best. Based on how Kristen had acted on Tuesday, it was clear that she would do anything in her power to be better than him. And he was perfectly okay with that. A lot of things have been going through his head that staying at the top isn't his main priority.
She could have the top spot for all he cares. Having everything ready for the arrival of his twins and the preparations for his wedding are his main priority. He's just glad that he gets this Fridays to relax before everything starts to get even more hectic.
He's really going to miss watching his favorite dramas. Beating again will forever be his favorite drama. The characters enter his heart, and they will forever be in it. For the tenth time he had watch the drama, and every time he would always hate Kang Minho for being a total dick. But as the episodes progressed, he learned to love him. He learned the reason why he was like that; he was never loved the way he was supposed to.
Kang Minho deserved loved and that was the main reason he was like that, because he didn't have some one to give it him to it.
In some ways Kai was like Kang Minho. They both needed love. And that was what really intrigue him to love the story and the story's meaning more than he intended too.
The popcorn was finished leaving a hungry Kyungsoo in desperate for more food. He pauses the episode leaving the characters in mid fight. Struggling to get up from the couch, Kyungsoo stands up to his swollen feet, getting them into his bunny slippers. The bowl is in his hand as he slightly swings it while he walks to the kitchen.
Going with cut fruit instead of another bowl of popcorn, he grabs a cutting board from the utensil cabinet and brings it to the table. He washes the fruits he's going to cut in the cold water.
He hums to himself as he starts cutting a mango into squares. It looks so delicious to his palate, bringing the taste to his mouth despite the fruits still uncut.
At the end, he has mangos, strawberries, pineapples, and apples cut into his bowl. Happiness spring out of him. His mouth is already watering at the sight of the fruits.
