Chapter Fifty Three:

(Miracles in December)

"Surprise!" The lights go on and everyone jumps out from where ever they were hiding.

Baekhyun is caught off guard that he is a little jumpy and his heart is beating fast. It takes a couple of seconds before he gets to register in his head what is going on. He takes all of the faces in, seeing them all happy and laughing. A warm smile creeps on him and he is soon swarmed with hugs from all of his friends.

"What is going on?" Baekhyun stutters while his eyes registers the entire room filled with 'It's a Boy', and 'It's a Girl' banners, and baby clothes made out of paper hanging on the top of the room in a zigzag pattern. The couch was removed from the living room and there was now chairs and a small table where the presents where at.

Without intent, Baekhyun's eyes start to water. He is filled with so much joy and is immensely surrounded by so much love. His body is filled with goosebumps from his head to his toes. He hasn't been feeling happy but this surprise has caught him off guard; this was the thing that he didn't know he needed.

"Do you like your surprise?" Kyungsoo asks, ecstatic that his best friend is also having a surprise baby shower with all of his friends. He goes in to hug Baekhyun but is soon pulled apart by his other friends who also want to hug him.

"Thank you guys so much for this. It makes me really happy to see all of you guys. I can feel all your love and that is something that..." Baekhyun takes a huge breath in and closes his eyes for a second before he opens them again." Something that I really need right now."

"Anything for you boo!" Kris yells from across the room and hits his chest with his fist and then straightness his arm up in the air to signify his love for him. Chanyeol throws a glare to Kris and the room bursts out laughing.

"We are always here for you." Kyungsoo grabs his hand and pulls his body towards him so that they are facing each other. Kyungsoo gives him a sweet gaze and a kiss on his cheek." I love you Bacon and the mini Bacon that is being sizzled to be ready." They both chuckle at his lame metaphor.

"Anyways, mow that you have all hugged and kissed my boyfriend, it is now my turn to do the same. Excuse me everybody." Chanyeol grabs Baekhyun's wrist and pulls him into their room for a solidarity moment between the two where they can have each other's warmth and affection for a couple moments before they have to go back to their friends.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were so lonely. It hurts me to see you like this- so depressed." Chanyeol sits on their bed and drags his boyfriend's body on top of him. Baekhyun's averts his eyes away and shrugs. Talking about his loneliness is more depressing than the actual loneliness he feels when he is alone in the apartment.

Baekhyun removes himself from Chanyeol and sits a couple of inches away from his boyfriend. He bites his lips and keeps his tempted cries from coming out. His throat is knots and the thought of finally saying the words that he has been meaning to say to him but don't come out, is terrifying him the most. Chanyeol is the best boyfriend and the most amazing person in the whole entire world so saying that he is depressed is like saying you don't make me happy which is totally untrue. He is happy with Chanyeol but when he is gone, it is when he debates the life he is in. That if he is truly happy; that if Chanyeol is the only one who is there for him and truly loves him.

"Babe, can you please tell me what's in your mind. Please!" Chanyeol quivers, his long hands threading his and making him look into his eyes. Baekhyun chokes out a sob. He finally understands the pain that Chanyeol is also in. His eyes show fear and desperation. His face is vulnerable and his heart is naked, exposed and fragile. They both are.

"I know that you are really depressed right now but please don't keep things to yourself. I am really sorry that we are in this crappy apartment and that I can't protect you, but I swear I'll do my best to get us out of here." Hiding his face on his hands, Chanyeol starts to weep and his cries are soon heard loud and clear in the entire room. "I'm sorry that I can't protect you," he muffles out again.

"But you are protecting me." Baekhyun kneels on his knees and removes Chanyeol's hands from his face. He gives him a warm smile as his hand is placed on his cheek. "You're love is protecting me and our baby. You work two jobs to provide for us, you stay awake some nights to keep from being sad, and when you're tired, the only thing that rather do than sleep is to watch movies with me, and keep me distracted from my thoughts.

Without realizing that I was depressed or not, I was still your main priority; my happiness was above yours, and that is something I don't take for granted. It was not you or us being in this apartment that made me depressed, it was that fact that my life had turned from being a teenager with all my friends to being forced out to live out without my mom's support, and with nobody else to share my thoughts with when you're not around. So please don't blame yourself."

Baekhyun plants a gentle, slow kiss on Chanyeol's lips, savoring the taste of his lover. "I love you so much, Byun Baekhyun. If you ever feel like this please come to me. I don't want you to ver feel like this again." Chanyeol pulls him into a hug. Baekhyun in a low whisper says ' I love you' as well and.

After a very long time-which felt like an eternity for the guests who were waiting for the couple- it was time to play games. Sad memories and lonely times were long forgotten for this pair of friends on this lovely time. Baekhyun had never felt this happy in a long time. It was as if they were all still in high school and they didn't have to worry about other things. But of course, Baekhyun is really heavy and pregnant, and Kyungsoo has two infants that need to be fetched and taken care of.

For the first time, Kris was winning all the games and Luhan kept loosing which made Chen mock him the whole entire game. The girls were letting the boys slide which made them have some discussions of who was actually winning and who was not. In the end, Xiumin won the last game so he got the privilege to be one of godfather's of Chanyeol and Baekhyun's baby.

"That is so totally not fair. I won almost all the games." Kris shakes his head, grabbing a chip from the bowl and dipping it in the salsa bowl in irritation. Lay was also mad because he wanted to be the godfather because since he was closer to Baekhyun, he was so sure he got it so now that destroyed that dream.

"I'm sorry but Chanyeol had agreed that whoever won on guessing the correct measurement of Baekhyun's belly with toilet paper would win so... Xiumin is the winner." Cassandra shrugs and makes 'I am sorry but just defeat your loss' look.

"Yeah sure. When I have a kid, I won't even considered you and Sehun for godparents." Kris mockingly says with a pout.

"Stop being a whiny baby. Instead we should suggest baby names for them since they don't the gender of the baby," Min-ji proposes with a remark of delight.

Soon the room the room is filled with noise and the soon to be parents are pulled apart with names thrown from every direction. Discussions are turned into debates about which names are better than others and not one single mouth is kept shut.

It will be interesting to find out what the names will be if it is a girl or if it is a boy.
