The first month, was fine. Luke had never done this so he had no idea what to do.

Luke tried to love at first, but he felt unfixable. Like he can't love Michael, because Luke can't live himself.

Another pizza box sat on the table, Michael and Luke eating in silence. Luke had spaced out, he barely noticed Michael.

Michael ate two bites and poked at the rest. He never wanted to eat now. What's the point?

Luke sighed, bringing his head down, running his hands through his blond curls.

Michael stared at Luke's figure with strong worry, but didn't press Luke for answers. He avoided and brushed off the subject for now. He silently excused himself, barely being noticed by Luke these days.

He went up to their room, and got his book he was previously reading the night before. He searched for his spot, sitting on the bed, and started reading.

Luke walked with quick confidence to find Michael.

"I'm going out. I'll be back later. Bye, Michael." Luke whispered.

Michael didn't respond to Luke, and Luke didn't wait for one. He just walked out the door, like a fool.

Michael knew what was going on, it was obvious to anyone. Luke didn't know Michael knew, but he didn't even try to hide it. Michael could smell the alcohol on Luke when he gets home at 3 am, and the perfume of another girl.

Michael thought he'd cry first, he usually did, but he found his heart empty and cruel. He didn't love Luke, not really. That's what he thought at first. Then he'd fallen while Luke turned his back to him, coming home at 3 am. It was heartbreaking, and the wrong way to start.

Michael closed his book at 2:50 am, rubbing his eyes. He hoped maybe, just maybe, sleep would overcome him tonight. That he'd be okay for awhile.
