Chapter Three: Diagon Ally

I woke to the lack of Vicki yelling at me to get out of bed. I thought everything that happened yesterday must have been a dream. I opened my eyes to find I was still in the room I was in last night and Jonny was still asleep on the pillow. I had a shower and changed into the most presentable things I had which consisted of holey, light blue jeans, a plain pink tee and of course my necklace.
Once I got out I saw Jonny eating a fly out of a spider web he must have made last night.
"Gross" I mumbled.
"Hey, spiders gotta eat too" Jonny said.
"Well I'm going downstairs, you coming?" I asked. Jonny nodded and quickly finished the fly then climbed up my arm and onto my shoulder. I grabbed an apple out of my bag and went downstairs. The place was filled with people. There weren't many seats but I managed to find one in a dark corner of the room where no-one could see me. I ate my apple and just talked quietly with Jonny. Then I saw a massive shadow of a man in the door that I was sitting next to. He was 10 times bigger than anyone I had ever seen. He started walking towards me. He had mattered black hair and his face was covered in a beard, I could only see his eyes.
"'ello there" He said in a friendly tone. "'ave yeh seen a girl named Evangeline Blackbourn 'round 'ere?" He asked. Oh, this must be the guy Dumbledore was talking about. 'he's not hard to miss' because he's so freakishly tall.
"Yeah, that'd be me actually" I said taking another bite out of my apple. He smiled broadly.
"Oh Miss Blackbourne. It's a pleasure ter meet yeh. I am Rubeus Hagrid, gamekeeper an' new Professor at Hogwarts, but call me Hagrid. Dumbledore sent me ter take yeh ter Diagon Ally" He said.
"I'll just go get my stuff then." I said and ran upstairs and grabbed my bag.
"That guys kinda scary" Jonny said.
"Think of him as a spider. Scary on the outside but he could be a softie on the inside" I said.
"I'm not a softie!" Jonny Exclaimed.
"Oh, I didn't say you were" I said, smirking. He huffed and crossed a pair of his 8 legs. I laughed and patted his head. I must say I am getting quite attached to this spider.
"Ready ter go?" Hagrid asked when I got back.
"Yeah!" I said enthusiastically. He laughed.

We were at a brick wall and Hagrid started counting the bricks? I was watching him with curiosity.
"You'd think he could just sit on the wall to get through because of his size" Jonny said. I laughed and Hagrid looked at me funny. I play-glared at Jonny and he chuckled, clearly amused. Soon the bricks started to move, making me jump a little, and revealed a little town.
"Welcome ter Diagon Ally!" Hagrid said. wow! I was super excited and happy. I haven't felt like this in a long time. We walked down the path and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. This place was magnificent. "Wow, Dumbledore said yeh were special but he di'nt mention tha'" Hagrid said suddenly making me snap back into reality.
"What do you mean?" I asked. He pointed to my hair. I walked to a shop and looked into the window at my reflection. My hair was glowing again but this time it wasn't as red. It was more orangey-yellow and it flickered calmer, like a tame candle. "Is this normal for a witch?" I asked.
"I mus' say it's not. I havn' seen anythin' like this before" He said. I sunk a bit. "It's not that it's a bad thin'. Jus' not common. C'mon let's get yeh books" He said. I closed my eyes and calmed down. Once I opened them, my hair was back to normal. Phew!
"Hagrid?" I asked.
"Yes Miss Blackbourn" He answered.
"Please call me Evangeline. But how am I supposed to pay for all this stuff. I don't have any money" I said looking at the shopping list.
"We go ter Gringotts o' course" He said like it was obvious.
"What's Gringotts?" I asked.
"A Wizard bank" He said. We walked a little further and came to a tall white building. "This is Gringotts" He said. There was a short, pointy eared creature standing out the front. It watched as we walked through the large double doors.
"What was that creature?" I asked.
"Tha', Evangeline, was a Goblin" Hagrid said. We came to another pair of doors with more goblins standing in front. We walked through into a long marble hall filled with more goblins sitting behind long counter busily working away. I was walking close behind Hagrid.
"Mornin'" Hagrid said to a goblin.  "We've come ter take some money outta Miss Evangeline Blackbourn's vault" The goblin looked at me then back at Hagrid.
"Do you have a key?" The goblin asked.
"Got it right 'ere" Hagrid said, fishing through his pockets until he pulled out a small gold key.
"Very well" said the goblin and he rang a little bell then another goblin came. We followed the goblin towards a door. I wonder how much money is in my vault???
