"Remus, Sirius, my old friends" Pettigrew said then tried to dash in-between them but they caught him and threw him back. He looked around, eager to find a way to escape. His eyes landed on Harry.
"Harry, look at you. You look so much like your father. Like James. We were the best of friends him and I" He said.
"How dare you speak to Harry! How dare you speak about James infront of him!" Black exclaimed forcing Pettigrew away from Harry.
"You sold James and Lily to Voldemort didn't you?" Lupin accused.
"I didn't mean to! The dark lord, you've no idea the weapons he possess'. What would you have done?" He asked Black.
"I would have died rather than betray my friends!" Black yelled. Pettigrew tried to run through the door but Harry and I ran over and blocked his way, my hair still burning with fury. He grabbed onto Harry.
"Harry! James wouldn't have wanted me killed. Your dad would have spared me. He would have shown me mercy!" He said as Lupin and Black pulled him back and raised their wands.
"You should have realized Peter, that if Voldemort didn't kill you then we would! Together!" Black yelled.
"NO!" Harry yelled.
"Harry, this man is-" Lupin started.
"I know what he is. But we'll take him to the castle" Harry said. A wave of relief washed over Pettigrews face.
"Oh bless you, boy, bless you" He said grovelling at Harry's feet.
"GET OFF ME!" Harry yelled, kicking him away. "I said we'd take you to the castle. After that the Dementors can have you" Harry added. Pettigrew looked horrified. Black and Harry helped Ron out the door.
"What about Snape? Shouldn't we help him?" I asked remembering he was still knocked out.
"You're seriously worrying about Snape?" Ron asked.
"No I just, don't think he should be left unconscious in the Shreiking shack" I defended.
"He'll be fine" Lupin said from behind us and we kept walking, hopping in Ron's case.
"Sorry about the bite. I reckon it twinges a bit" Black apologised.
"A bit? Abit?! You almost chopped my leg off!" Ron exclaimed.
"I was going for the rat! Normally I have a very sweet disposition as a dog. In fact more than once James suggested that I make the change permanent. The tail I could live with, but the fleas, they're murder" He said.
"Tell me about it" I concurred earning weird looks from Hermione and Harry, but Black and Ron understood. Once we finally made it out Ron was placed on a rock and Black was walking slowly towards the castle.
"You better go" Ron said.
"No its fine, I'll stay" Harry said.
"You go, I'll stay" Hermione said. Harry slowly got up and made his way over to Black who was admiring the view of the castle..
"You can go too" Ron said.
"No I'll stay. Besides, Harry deserve some alone time with his godfather he is, afterall, the only good family he has left" I said.
"But don't you want to find out what he was going to say?" Ron asked. I sighed.
"More than anything" I admit. "But that can wait" There was a moment silence before Hermione broke it.
"That looks really painful" She stated, studying Ron's leg.
"So painful. They uh, might have to chop it" He said. I chuckled to myself and stood off to the side so I didn't interrupt the rest of the lovebirds conversation. Soon Lupin came out from the Whomping Willow with Pettigrew still trying to find a way to escape.
"Ron! Haven't I been a good friend? A good pet? You wouldn't let them give me to the dementors, I was your rat!" He bawled. The he turned to me.
"Evangeline. Your mother, I have information about her that you would answer all your questions, let me go and I can share it with you" He bargained. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Like what?" I asked curiously. I wasn't actually considering letting him go. I just thought maybe he would spill the beans regardless and I've been yearning for answers. A wide grin grew on his face as he chuckled in my face. I grimaced but didn't look away.
"Your mother was kind yes, but she fell in with a dark crowd" he started, his voice dropping low almost to a whisper. This intrigued me.
"I'm gonna need more than that!" I pressed. His crooked grin returned.
"Very well. During Hogwarts she was kind, modest yet outgoing and friends with almost everyone and that would soon haunt her. And once when she left Hogwarts-" he stopped to chuckle to himself "she changed." As did his voice. It made me shudder. "She befriended some dark individuals and that lead to her demise-"
"Now that's enough from you!" Lupin interrupted, pulling him away. Wait, why am I even listening to what he's saying. He's probably just trying escape. But something in my gut told me it was true. And it only left me wanting to know more.
Lupin was still trying to restrain him. I sighed, my head falling back and looking up at the night sky. I caught a glimpse of the moon.
"Uh oh, this isn't good" I straightening my stance.
"What?" Hermione asked but followed my gaze. She gasped. "HARRY!" She yelled and as soon as he turned she pointed to the full moon emerging from behind the cloud. Black quickly made his way over.
"Remus my old friend. Have you taken your potion tonight?" Ha asked as he grabbed onto his shoulders. Hermione, Harry and I helped Ron off the rock and away from Lupin and Black who was trying to hold Lupin back as the moonlight shone over him. Lupin dropped his wand and Pettigrew grabbed it. I grabbed my wand back from Harry's pocket.
"Expelliarmus!" I said and Lupin's wand flew out of Pettigrew's hand. A creepy, crooked smile appeared across his face and he gave an odd wave then transformed back into a rat and ran away.
"Come back here you cowardly toerag!! I yelled as Hermione held Harry back. By this time Lupin had now fully transformed. We tried to back away slowly but Hermione didn't move.
"Wait!" She said to us. She started walking towards Lupin the werewolf.
"Bad idea 'Mione" I said but she ignored me.
"Professor?" She said. Now the werewolf's attention was on us. "Professor Lupin?" She said again. He suddenly howled making us all jump back. He slowly started making his way over to us. Snape suddenly popped out from the Whomping Willow, missing the werewolf as he strode over to us.
"There you are Potter!" He said grabbing on to Harry. The werewolf growled and Snape turned and stretched his arms out defensively and pushed us behind him. The werewolf struck and knocked us all over then Black, in animagus form, jumped over and knocked him down and they started to fight as Lupin was in no control of his body anymore. We all got up and hid behind Snape again. Black took the werewolf's attention off us and ran off with Lupin following.
"Sirius!" Harry yelled. I took a few steps back, transformed, and then ran up then jumped over Snape. I was about to run off after them when Snape yelled.
"Come back here Potter!"
I turned and growled at him, telling him to stay back then ran off and joined the fight. I saw Harry watching a little while away. I was thrown about quite a bit but kept my ground. The three of us fought for a while. I was thrown and hit my head really hard on a rock. I growled out in pain. My vision was slightly blurry but I saw Harry throw something, a rock I think, at Lupin. Then when the werewolf started approaching on Harry. A howl radiated from the depths of the forest and the werewolf ran off after it. I didn't have enough strength to get up. I saw Harry walking past and I let out a weak "Mreow" sound. He stopped for a second but then ran after Black. I slowly and shakily got up. I didn't see which direction they went. I walked around for a bit when I slipped and rolled down a hill. I looked up and saw a small lake and dementors everywhere. I used all my strength to change back to human. I gabbed out my wand and weakly aimed it above me to the thousands of dementors floating around.
"Expecto patro-!" I tried but I was too drained. I tried again but they were swarming around me and I felt weak, even weaker than before. My vision started going blurry again. I looked up for a brief moment before I saw a wispy, silvery snow leopard just standing there. After a moment of watching it an extremely bright light lit up the lake. It vanquished all the dementors. After the light dimmed back down I saw a figure at the other end of the lake. It looked like...no, it couldn't be...It looked like my mother. I tried to get a better look but my body couldn't handle it. I then blacked out...

While I was unconscious I had visions of my mother. Not pleasant ones either. A dark, cloaked figure shot a green spell at her and it hit her straight in the chest. Her body lay lifeless on the floor as the cloaked figure turned slowly, surveying the room. He raised his wand but before anything else happen the scene changed. I was at the orphanage, maybe 10 years old. I was in the midst of one of Vicki's punishments was she pounding me to a pulp. So many visions flashed through my head, all unpleasant ones. I heard someone calling my name. Soon I felt myself come to and my eyes fluttered open and landed right on Jonny, who was sitting on my chest.
"Evangeline!" He said happily once he saw my eyes open.
"I saw my mother!" was the first thing I said.
"Wow, you almost die and I don't even get an 'I'm sorry' or  nothing...thanks" Jonny joked. I laughed quietly. I sat up and saw Hermione sitting between Harry's and Ron's bed. They were both awake. Once she saw that I was awake she rushed over to me and squeezed me tight.
"I'm so glad you're ok" She said.
"Ow, ow ,ow, watch my arm" I said. She immediately let go.
"I'm so sorry" She said. I laughed. My arm was covered in bandages.
"What happened to Black?" I asked.
"They've captured him" Hermione said sadly "Any moment they're gonna perform the kiss"
"You mean they're gonna kill him?" Harry said just waking up.
"No it's worse. Much worse. They're going to suck out his soul" Hermione said. Just then the doors opened and in came Dumbledore. Hermione wasted no time. She walked over to him. "Headmaster, you've got to stop them" She said. I got up and walked over to her along with Harry. "They've got the wrong man" She added.
"It's true sir. Sirius is innocent" Harry said.
"It's scabbers who did it" Ron said from his bed.
"Scabbers?" Dumbledore repeated confused.
"He's my rat sir. Only he's not really a rat...I mean he was a rat. He was my brother, Percy's, rat and then-"He started rambling.
"The point is we know the truth" I finished interrupting Ron.
"Please believe us" Hermione begged.
"I do Miss Granger but I'm sorry to say the word of four thirteen year old wizards will convince few others" He said walking past us and over near Ron. "A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who have forgotten to listen" He said patting Ron's leg making him wince in pain. The bell chimed and his face suddenly lit up as if he had gotten a brilliant idea. He walked back over towards Hermione, Harry and I.
"Mysterious thing time" He said. "Powerful, but when meddled with dangerous. Sirius Black is in the topmost cell in of the dark tower. You know the laws Miss Granger." He said turning to face her. What is he talking about? You must not be seen" He added. I was lost "You will do well I feel to return before this last chime. If not the consequences are too ghastly to discuss" He said. What is he on about?
"If you succeed tonight, more than one innocent life can be spared tonight" He added as he was about to leave. He turned back. "Three turns should do it I think" He said with a wink then left. But we have no time. We...wait a second...time...turns...Hermione's Time turner! Realisation must have shown on my face because Hermione smiled deviously and Harry looked as baffled as a baboon on a boat.
"Oh by the way, when in doubt I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck" He said then closed the doors.
"What the bloody hell was that all about?!?" Ron exclaimed.
"Sorry Ron but seeing as you can't walk" Hermione said pulling the necklace and putting it around the three of us. Harry went to touch it I slapped his hand away and Hermione turned it three times.
