The light coming from the window was enough to send my back straight. I was up. I rubbed my eyes with the tip of my fingers and as I opened them, I could easily notice an entire army of tiny stars floating in front of me. I heard a sudden knock on the door.

"Come in." I ordered, as I covered my neck and my lower body with the blanket.

"Miss Swift, breakfast is ready downstairs," Alondra informed. She was the maid, but to me she was more than that. Ever since I was a little kid, she has looked out for me in ways my own mother never had. "Oh and Mr. Swift left this note for you." She said, showing me from the door frame the small piece of paper.

"Come in, Alondra, it's okay." She offered me a warm smile and entered the room. I extended my arm to get the note.

"Excuse me." She said, exiting the room. The piece of paper was folded in half, so I opened it and it read:

'Taylor, you're going to the mechanic on your own. Bruce is driving me to L.A this morning. Ask for Harold, he is our man. Sorry he can't take you. Love you.'

"Great," I murmured to my self, as I uncovered my body. I got up from the bed and walked out of the room. I made my way downstairs, as I felt the soft texture of the wooden railing in my hand. As soon as I walked into the dining room, I slid into my chair. Alondra entered the room in a matter of seconds, with a platter of food. Eggs, ham, beans, yogurt, a basket of bread, strawberries in a bowl, milk and orange juice were already served in the table, but she walked in with more berries on a silver platter. She knew I loved berries way too much. "Thanks Alondra, you're too nice." She smiled leaving me alone in the room. I took a strawberry and I stared at it long enough to realize I wasn't even hungry. I let a sigh come out of my lips, as I tangled my fingers with my long blonde hair. I let the food untouched and went upstairs, without taking a shower I just put on some yoga pants, a hoodie and my white classic Keds. I took the car keys from the night stand and as I walked downstairs, I put my hair up in a ponytail. I marched out of the house, I felt the sun burning right into me, even though my arms were covered. I headed towards my car in a rush, and as I got in, the heat inside of it immediately made me get out. I rolled my eyes and waited a few minutes for the insides of my car to cool down, I didn't want to drive in a four wheeled hell. I checked my phone notifications and to my surprise Conor had called me three times last night while I was asleep. He was a Kennedy, therefore our relationship was well seen by everyone we knew. Ever since we were little kids, our parents were thrilled to have us get married. I fell in love with him since I was ten years old, I knew since then he was the one meant for me. We've been through so much, Nicholas Sparks could easily write an entire novel about us.

"Hi there sleepy head." He answered my call a few seconds after the first ring. It felt like he was expecting it.

"Hi, love," I replied, with a soft tone in my voice. "You called me, is there something going on?"

"There's a small get together, one of my oldest friends is the host, it shall be fun," He chuckled slightly. "It's a really old friend, you don't know him yet. It's been almost twenty years since the last time we saw each other, I think." I nodded.

"Sounds fun. Pick me up at seven then. Love you." I hung up and entered the car. I started the car and drove down the driveway. I reached the gate and waited for Samuel to open it for me. After a few seconds I started driving down town, the mechanic was just a few minutes away from my house. Once I got there in my black Audi, three mechanics were already around my car. I parked it, opened the hood and got out.
