I was at school with my friends, Max, Zach and Ashley. It was 6:45 in the morning and it was too early to be up and sitting. Waiting for the school bell to ring to announce to go to first period, I sat close to Max with my legs bent up close to my face and my head resting on my knees. Max's arm wrapped around my shoulder as I peeked through my auburn hair that covered my face, giving him a slight tired smile.
Out of our group I sat in the middle where the wall pops out. That was my spot. It always has been and always will be. Max sat to my left, Ashley to my right and then Zach beside her. I could see to my right Zach and Ashley cuddled up. Ashley snuck a glace Zach's Asian black hair that she loved so much. Zach then buried himself in Ashley's shoulder, which was already covered in her brown hair. Zach started to move it out of his way trying to get comfy. I was hoping the bell would never ring, but knew that wasn't going to happen so I was just patiently sitting and resting. I looked over at Max, starting to whine,
"Max I'm tired." I said trying my hardest to not yawn. Those things are contagious.
He chuckled and slipped his hand into mine. "I'm tired too but you got to deal with it. We have school." he said sounding somewhat slightly confident but tired himself. I groaned and buried my head in my knees again. I wanted to be in bed sleeping and not in this prison of learning.
Ugh.
BEEEEEEPPPPPPPP
I groaned at the sound of the first bell which means everyone had to get moving to class. I saw Max stand up and offer a hand to me, which I stubbornly didn't take. Smiling at him I noticed his bedhead, which he had every single day. He never bothered to brush his dirty blonde hair. I was secretly laughing though on the inside. I felt him take my sides though and lift me up, making me let out a squeal.
"Okay, okay I'm moving." I said through laughter and smiling at him. He chuckled as I lifted my backpack over my shoulder, we linked hands and started walking to class. The best part about first period was we had the same class together. So it was a pretty smooth day from then on there. I chuckled as I dragged him down the hall and up the stairs and to homeroom, ready to await my day ahead of me.
LUNCH TIME
It was lunch time and I sat down next to max with a tray of chicken nuggets, fruit and chocolate milk. It was enough to fill me but I'd be hungry by the time I got home. Home... How I wish I could just go home with Ashley or Max, my two bestest friends in the whole world. Then I'd never go home.
I sat contently eating my food and listening to Max's conversation with his friend Noah. He was the other friend who sat with us at lunch. He was odd but he was alright to talk and hang out with. He was interesting. After poking fun at eachother and talking to Max, we walked up back to class. Max went his way and I went mine. I had Reading. I was already good at reading. I didn't deserve to be in reading class. This sucked.
All the kids annoyed me from one extent to another and it bothered poor Ms.Etzold. I sighed as I worked on my homework, once in a while being bothered by a kid that sat next to me. I groaned and made some conversation with him just to be polite.
The bell finally rung and it was the end of the day. I had to take the bus because my friend and ex-bowling team member, Jessica, was at softball practice. I groaned as I headed downstairs in the traffic rush of 2,000 students and to the bus ramp, quickly making it onto my bus on time.
After getting home from school, I was sitting at my table procrastinating on my Algebra homework. I tapped my pencil on the textbook and stared off into space, my phone sitting on the side. I had been texting Max while doing my homework. He was better at helping me with my homework. I wasn't even halfway done and I wanted to just quit, but my mamma told me to get it done.
My phone buzzed and I picked it up, reading the message and chuckling before tapping back a message and sending. I sighed before slamming my textbook and notebook shut. Math bored me anyways. I could just always tell my mamma I was done with my math anyways. I felt my phone buzz and looked at it to see Ashley calling.
"Hello?" I answered cradling the phone in my ear and carrying my books to my room.
"Hey sup?" Ashley responded. I could hear the tone of boredom in her voice. I raised my eyebrows.
"Um nothing much. Just quit on my Algebra. yourself?" she laughed.
"Nothing really. I'm going to start my homework soon but not now. Too lazy." she said and made a stretching like noise. I chuckled.
"Arent you always?" I said and we both shared a laugh. After talking about our day, ranting about our boyfriends, (well, mostly Ashley ranting about Zach) and conversing about other random things, we soon hung up. I jumped onto my computer and stared browsing through youtube and facebook.
It was boring on Facebook but I noticed something that caught my attention. It was a message. I clicked on the message symbol and opened it up. It was from a guy named Whogivesafuckwhatmynameis. At least that's what his facebook name, was. His facebook picture, well, he didn't have one. I frowned slightly and clicked on his message. It only clearly stated:
I'm watching you.
I frowned and got a little nervous. I wondered if it was spam, maybe a prank or someone trying to be mean. I heard about the weirdos on the internet and what happens to the innocents. I swallowed but kept the message to show my parents later. I clicked off of facebook and decided to watch Youtube videos. Maybe some Shane Dawson or SMPfilms would calm me down.
Later that night I had told Max what had happened. He told me to delete the message but I told him no. I had to show my parents. He told me to also get rid of my facebook for a while, maybe it would help. I wasn't sure.
My parents went out later that night. I was scared, confused and un sure of what to do. After thinking about it, I decided to ring up Ashley. She might know. I dialed her number hoping she'd pick up.
"What's up Crazia?" she said sounding calm and casual. I wasn't.
"Ashley I need to talk to you." I said trying to make sure my voice wasn't shaky.
"Asia you okay?" she asked knowing I was serious. I could hear the concern in her voice. I was quiet for a breif moment, debating to tell my best friend about the weird facebook message. I had to.
"Okay, I'm really scared right now. I got this weird facebook message from, well, I dont know what his name is. But all he said was: I'm watching you. It makes me real nervous and real scared. I'm afraid to go to sleep in my own bedroom. And it makes it worse that my parents went out for the night. They wont be back for a while."
Silence. I wish Ashley would say something.
"Asia I think you should de-activate your facebook account for a while. Just to be safe, y'know?" I fidgeted pacing back and forth in my house. I looked at the front door and instintively rushed over to it and locked it. I didn't know what creeper could be out there. It could even be the one from facebook who sent me that weird message.
"Y-yeah. I forgot to tell my parents about it. I was going to before they left but they left without me even noticing." I said furrowing my eyebrows.
"Do you want to spend the night at my house tonight?" Ashley offered. "Just so you feel at least a little bit safer." I chuckled.
"No, I'll be fine. Maybe it was just a prank." there was a eerie silence between us that was very uncomfortable. We probably both had a feeling it might not have been a prank, but deep down we both were hoping it was. After some casual chatting about school, our boyfriends and why they could be such dummies and what not, it was getting late. It was already 11:30.
"Alright I'll see you at school tomorrow." I said stretching.
"Alright and if you have trouble sleeping just call okay?" Ashley said with a little worry in her voice.
"Alright. Night Ashley."
"Night."
That night I lay restless in my bed until I heard my phone buzz.
It was from a strange number I didn't recognize. I opened the message and I felt my body freeze.
I'm watching you.
