The bell signalling the end of the school day would ring at any second so I rushed to the library to return the book I had just finished. I opened the door to the library and found myself gazing at the sight of a fight that must have just broken out. Other students were gathered around the two opponents so the Liberian could not stop the scene before me. I didn't have a clear view myself so I stood up on my toes to see over the students in front of me.

The first thing I saw were fists flying fast. Then all hell broke loose. The next thing I knew, people were biting other people and blood had splattered my face. The moment the warm liquid hit me, I turned and bolted out the door. I paused for a split second when I stepped out then turned right and rushed to the first classroom of the 300 hall to our school.

Classroom 310. It was the class I had come from. The room was mostly empty. Only 10 students and Mrs. Requizo, an English teacher, shared the room with me. The bell must have rang just before the outbreak of sudden cannibalism. Most of the students made it outside. I shut the door behind me and slid against it till I was sitting.

"What the hell is going on!?" someone asked aloud.

I looked up to the person who spoke, but before I could even meet that person's eyes, I saw the body laying in the middle of the floor. A sudden wave of nausea hit me and my lunch almost made a reappearance. As I forced my lunch to stay down I took another look at the body. The neck had been completely ripped open. There was no way that person could have survived.

Just as the thought left my brain the dead body twitched and sat bolt up. A couple of people gasped while everyone else screamed bloody murder. The now living-dead person looked up at the closest people, stood up, and leaped on Mrs. Requizo and took a chunk of her arm with it's teeth. I stood up as fast as I could and opened the door behind me. Within seconds, half the people in the room where running around eating their way towards the door. I stepped out just before my former English teacher could grab hold of me and slammed the door in her face.

I stood there leaning against the door for a second. Then screams reached my ear. I looked to where it came from and saw a girl at the other end of the hall laying on the ground with a gaping hole in her stomach. Three other students had ripped away at the girl's insides and were chewing it up. One paused for a second and looked up at me. He stood up and I panicked. I knew him. He was in my chorus class. August was his name. He had blond, curly hair, blue eyes, and was probably the tallest person in the entire school.

August opened his now bloody mouth and let out a screech that sent chills down my spine. He leaped over the other two cannibals and the now dead girl and broke into a sprint. As soon as he leaped, I started running. I made it out of the 300 hall and hid behind the vending machine that stood at the entrance of the hall. Seconds later, August was standing just inches from me. He looked around and I stayed as quiet and still as I possibly could. I didn't even breathe.

After what seemed like years of waiting, August turned back toward the dead girl and walked out if sight. I stayed where I was for a little bit longer until my lungs demanded I start breathing again. Directly in front of me was the library and cafeteria. To the right of the cafeteria was the auditorium and the music hall.

"If I could just make it to the chorus room maybe I'll find some of my friends," I thought to myself. "Maybe they'll help me find my family."

I was about to take my first step when I looked down at my shoes. They were brand new and when I walked, they squeaked. I took my shoes off as quietly as I could. I had my Captain America socks on and I knew I'd have to take those off as well. I just couldn't risk slipping. Once my feet were bare I took off in a quiet sprint towards the music hall.
