Chapter 15

~~~ Marissa's P.O.V. ~~~

"Alright you guys," I said to each group. "Let's go get Alex. Does everyone understand what they need to do?" everyone nodded. I looked at Seth. He nodded. "OK Seth's group should go ahead and head out now. We'll follow in ten minutes."

The plan was to take out Derc's men first. They all had hidden in different houses. We did a little spying. Seth's group will go to each house acting like they're searching for supplies. We knew they'd probably be captured. That's when my group will go in and take out whoever is there. Then free Seth's group. We decided to go to each house that way. After Derc's men are taken care of, we'll set out to where Derc is keeping Alex.

Seth walked to the gym doors to wait for his group. A few minutes later he was back with a camera and an envelope. He handed them to me.

"Should we do what it says," he asked.

I took the envelope. Written on the front was, "For Arianna only." I knew what would happen if I gave this to her. I knew there was something fucked up inside. I knew it would drive her mad. But I also knew she would be angry if I didn't let her see it.

"Did you see what's on the camera," I asked Seth.

"I wasn't sure I wanted to know what was on it so I didn't look."

"Do you think we should see first?"

"I think we should just give it to Arianna. I know it will probably set her off again but I also know she has a right to know what's on it." I thought about what Seth said. It made sense. Maybe I should give this to Arianna. "But," Seth continued, "I also know Alex may not want to hurt her in that way. I know he'll do everything in his power to keep her protected from that."

"So you're pretty unsure what exactly would be the right way to go about this too then, right?"

"Yeah. I know she's asleep. And I know you don't want her to come along. But she's going to see the aftermath of what Derc did to him anyway. This might prepare her. And her and Lucy are practically nurses. They might know exactly what to do the second Alex gets back. If she sees him later she might not be able to help him because she'd be in shock."

"You have a point." I decided we'd have to show Arianna what Derc left her. "Come on Seth. Let's get her and her friends and family together. She's going to need the support."

Seth went and got Kayla, Mackenzie, Niana, and Dominic. Lucy and Caitlyn were already with Arianna. When we got to the gym Arianna was still sleeping.

"Aren't you guys supposed to be heading out right now," Lucy asked.

"That's going to have to wait," Seth said. "Derc left another "gift" for her." Seth sat next to Arianna and gently woke her up. "Hey Arianna. We need you to wake up."

She sat up slowly not fully awake. We gave her a second then we all sat down around her. Awake now, she looked at us confused.

"What's going on," she asked. I didn't have the courage to give her the envelope and camera so I gave them to Seth. "What's that?"

"It's from Derc again," Seth said with a sigh. "It says for you only."

"Did you see what's in it," she asked shakily.
