••••••••••••••••••••Although the Hobbits suffered a loss of their dear friend, Frodo, life in the Shire went on. Sam became the mayor of the Shire in the same year that Pippin and Ivy were married. Then, King Aragorn made a law that men were not allowed to enter the Shire, and have it under the protection of the Northern Scepter. Three years later, Faramir Took, son of Pippin and Ivy was born. Sam and Rosie also had another daughter, named Goldilocks. Merry and Lilliana wed, and Merry was made Master of Buckland. King Éomer and Lady Éowyn sent him and his wife great gifts.
After a year, Esmeralda Brandybuck, daughter of Merry and Lilliana was born. A few years later, Sam is elected mayor for the second time. Four years later, King Aragorn rides to the Brandywine Bridge, and greets the Hobbits. He gives the Star of the Dúnedain to Sam, and Elanor is made a maid of honor to Arwen. A year later, Sam is made mayor again. A year later, Sam and his growing family ride to Gondor and stay there for a year. When they return, Sam becomes mayor again. Three years later, Elanor marries Fastred Fairbairn of Greenholm. Ten years later, Frodo Jr. marries Esmeralda Brandybuck, being the second couple in the Shire with those two names. A year later, Elfstan Fairbairn, son of Fastred and Elanor is born. Then, Sam is made mayor again. Six years later, Sam is again mayor. Years later, Faramir Took marries Goldilocks, daughter of Samwise.
A few years later, Sam was made mayor for the seventh and last time, being ninety-six years old. Around ten years later, Rosie Gamgee passed away, leaving him and their fourteen children. Then, Drogo became the new mayor. On September 22, Sam rides out from his home. He was last seen by Elanor and Drogo, whom he gives the red book to. Sam went to the Grey Havens, and passed over the sea, in hopes to reunite with his old friend, Frodo again. Sadly, upon his arrival, he learned that Frodo passed away a few nine years after he left. Apparently, Shelob's poisonous scar, and the mark the Nazgûl's blade made Frodo sicker and sicker throughout this short years left of life. It was said that on the day of his passing, he did nothing but smile, knowing that he would soon be reunited with his one true love.
In the spring of the year 1484, a message came from Rohan to Buckland from King Éomer, wishing to see Master Merry again. Merry was one hundred and two years old at the time, but still went, bringing along Pippin, and leaving the graves of their wives behind. They were never seen in the Shire again.
They went to King Éomer, and stayed with him until he died that Autumn. Then, Merry and Pippin went to Gondor, and lived what short years they had left in them, until they died. A year later, King Aragorn fell ill, and passed away. It was said that the beds of Merry and Pippin were set next to the bed of the great King Aragorn. Then, Legolas built a grey ship in Ithilien, and sailed down Anduin. With him was Gimli the Dwarf. When that ship passed, an end was made of the Fellowship of the Ring.

.First, I just want to say, that I'm sorry. I honestly tried to write a happy ending, but it didn't work. Nothing seemed right, no matter how many times I rewrote it. I hope y'all can forgive me. It was really hard to kill off Esmeralda, but that's just how it turned out. For those of your who ask, "Do authors cry when they kill off a main character, or do they sit back and enjoy a cup of tea with Satan?", I can honestly say I do both.
Also, this section above was straight out of the book (except the part where Sam learns of Frodo's death. I made that up. The book didn't explain what happens to Frodo after he leaves to the Grey Havens), just simplified. This really was the true fate of the Fellowship.
It took me a year and a half to fully complete this fanfiction. It was so fun, and I honestly would do it all over again. I remember when the whole book was completed, except for the last chapter. I really didn't want to write the last one, it broke my heart, and that scene always makes me cry when I watch it. It was pretty sad. I wrote this for my friend, and she's either crying her eyes out right now, or plotting a way to murder me. (I'M SORRY!!!)
But hey, this is what happens in the real world. Nothing is truly happy, and I sure as hell know that. That's one of the reasons why I love Lord of the Rings. It was based off of wars, and how the author felt during these times. It relates to the readers, because they've probably gone through things like that.
Also, almost every single picture included was from Lord of the Rings fan accounts on Instagram. I DO NOT own any of the pictures.
I want to say thank you again for reading. I hope you felt like it was a good few hours wasted reading it.
Goodbye 😌
