As we flew away I stole a glance back and was pleased to see air pushing Xolde and his friends out of town. A smile formed itself on my lips and vanished just as quickly. I'm not the same any more, there's something inside me causing a change. I couldn't place my finger on it, what it was or the kind of powers it gave me. Yet it was there, and continually growing.
Zay, how do I suddenly know things? Like how I can look at an Enchantain and just BOOM! I know their life's story. I question.
Must I always repeat myself? Enchantment and those of it belong to you, there is no question about it. When your father passed the ability transferred from him and to you.
I ponder this and find his words true. Only after my dad's death did I notice the subtle change. And the elements? They came to my call.
For this one, Zayden didn't answer right away, You have more power than even I know of, little wave.
I was lost in my own thoughts when Declan, who had been flying ahead of me, shouted, "Oh shit!"
His head is turned back and curious, I look over my shoulder and am filled with irritation. Another cloud of Darkness is trailing behind us and gaining speed.
Larkus and Cherry flew nest to Squishy and I, "The plan?"
Just seeing the Darkness puts me in a negative mood. I curl my lip at Larkus, "I have never been one to plan, I fight."
He pulled out his sword, "Excellent," Cherry flew upwards and they flew straight towards the Darkness.
"Melody, I get you and Larkus are Gryffindor's, but really, we should have a plan." Ali yelled, forming a bubble around her.
"Call him back so we can figure this out." Jordan shouted.
"Cherry's a Slytherin, shouldn't she be against meeting Darkness? You know, risking her own safety." Kyle called, grinning.
Seth shook his head, "We have to help them,"
"We have to plan." Jordan disagreed.
I roll my eyes. Ravenclaws are always thinking. Larkus and Cherry are a ballsy couple, had to give them that.
"Mel, what are we doing?" Ester asked.
I smiled, "Fighting of course."
Without further discussion, as one, we turn to face Darkness and its followers already seizing them up.
The traitor mermaids are mine. I said into the minds of my Elementals.
We fully collide. Zane had his wits and he blew the Dark cloud away, banishing the horrid emotions it gave us.
"How could you?" I shout, nailing them with thick icicles. "You're merpeople!"
"That doesn't mean we'd follow you," a girl retorted and then received z frozen heart.
The battle didn't last beyond five minutes. We let a Dark elf go and let Laufeia know how we destroyed her minions yet again.
And we went on with our flight.

It took longer to get to the Mountain of Jewels than it should have. We purposely made stops to towns, villages and such throughout Enchantment. We gave our people hope and erased the dirty hand print of Darkness. For each place we visited, we called upon the elements to protect the Enchantains and each time Darkness was on our heels as we fled.
I became fond of this ordeal. Saving my people, letting them know I care about them. Reason made a few jokes about how what we're doing was similar to a presidential election.
