Once we got closer to our destination, Ate had me stop making us travel faster. He guided me to a castle made from a mountain. Not like the Dwarf Kingdom which is made inside the mountain, but this castle is made from several mountains collectively.
You could see how clearly attached the castle and the mountain were, like they hand carved the front to look like a cozy castle. The craftsmanship and attention to detail were exceedingly well done. Green vines and flowers decorate the rock walls. I look at the two tallest towers, one had the Elemental flag and the other had simply a white bird.
"Dwarf made?" I guess.
"No, Izabelle made."
"She built her own castle?"
"With her bare hands. And of course some tools."
This impressed me. I mean, how many queens do you know that built their castle by themselves. I didn't, that's for damn sure.
Ate lead us through the lush garden and I take in as much as I can. I note how I should not be blinded by the beauty of this place because it is meant to be a battle field. I sensed the spells, charms, hexes and such that were placed everywhere for intruders. I quickly see how many patrollers there are throughout the kingdom, since before Ate started talking to me. In the mountain, sky, underground, all walking invisibly. They walk in pairs, and every ten seconds a single guard would follow behind the pair.
In the garden I see many unusual creatures, some I recognize and others I couldn't begin to even describe.
Then we're at the front doors and Ate smiles as he opens them.
As I enter, the activity in the room becomes still. I walk confidently to the woman on the rather small thrown.
Do not bow. It will be viewed as an insult and they will think you are mocking them. Zayden warns.
I smile broadly at the woman, "Izabelle," I slightly incline my head.
Regal is the first word that comes to mind when looking at the queen. Long, deadly straight platinum blonde hair, high cheek bones and porcelain skin. Extraordinary pale skin, like she hasn't seen the sun in her entire life. I blink as I realize she is a vampire.
"You're a blood sucker," I mindlessly state. Crap, I hope I haven't offended her. With all my power, I know the queen could beat my ass into next month.
A ghost of a smile appeared on her thin lips, "You have the looks of Zayden."
"What race of vampire are you?" my curiosity is taking over and I didn't think much of what she said.
"Rahksarlian,"
There are five diverse vampire races in Enchantment. The Vantiquador, Gangrel, Rahksarlian, Assamite and the Akashan. And yes, I listed them in order from best to worst.
The Vantiquador are the ruling monarchy of the vampires, though the worst vampires hardly listen to them. They're clean, noble and classy. They only require a single bite from a person and their diet is the best; they require the least amount of blood to function. They can be smooth talking charmers; your typical Dracula. Also, they're the only vampire race that can breed, the other races can only conceive with that of a living being.
Gangrel are weird. For some reason they have an affinity for animals. When defensive they also take on traits of animals such as cat-like ears, heightened senses, silted eyes and things like that. These vampires actually maintain a healthy relationship with the shifters and Jordan's crowd because one of theirs sacrificed their life for an Earth Elemental way back when. Since then both opposite races have been friends, fighting in wars together, helping one another and in most cases mating. They need about an ounce to go on.
