Water and fire, complete opposites. Two that will not mesh- that should not mesh. But I have a thing with trying to prove others wrong.
With any situation, there's a danger if we don't find a mutual balance. Fire can dry up water and water can smother fire. Neither are favorable here.
Reason lowered us to the ground and I threw up a protective dome. The wild dragons and other Elementals try their best to fend off any intruders. For this we need the utmost concentration.
Both our palms had small circles of our element and we tried our best to make them equal.
"You have too much water,"
"The heat is making everything evaporate!"
We tried and tried yet nothing was working.
Zayden. I whine.
I felt his eye roll, Unite the two.
We have!
Think more metaphoric than literal.
I scrunch my eyebrows.
"What did Zayden say?" Reason asked, slightly frustrated.
"He wants us to think less literally and more metaphorically." I sigh, not understanding the riddle.
Reason adorably grins and pulled me in for a kiss.
I push his mouth away with my hand, "So not the right moment, Reason."
"By going literal we were using the actual elements. By going metaphoric," Reason let his words hang for me to solve it.
"We use ourselves." I happily shriek, jump in his arms and wrap my legs around his waist.
He laughed at me then eagerly met my kiss.
It took no time until I felt the familiar surge of power that began in my stomach and gradually spread throughout my body. We interlock our fingers as we slowly release the tension within us. Later, Cherry described how a huge, red and blue ball made from water one second and then fire rose from my dome and terminated every form of Darkness. She said it was like nothing she'd ever seen and judging from the others' minds it truly was quite the sight. Reason and I couldn't recall who was controlling what, where one of us began and the other ended. It was like we were the same person, our souls and bodies combined for that brief time to rid Darkness.
Jordan told us that what we did had never occurred before and there was no proper name for it. So Reason and I decided to call it Fusion. Ester and Jordan tried to accomplish the level of power we unlocked but as hard as they hugged they just could not produce any form of air-earth ball.
Zayden informed me that Fusion is only new because there has never been Beloveds within two Elementals. And naturally when beings with our abilities belong together, we get something like bonus features. So Ester and Dmitri, Jordan and Anna only they will be able to achieve Fusion with time and practice. Not going to lie, I'm totally looking forward to seeing their elements combine to create something great. Fusion is what helped us win the battle and chase out the slayers and Darkness.
Afterwards we cleaned up and luckily the slayers left the Rider Swords they stole and I was able to send them all to Juto, who informed me that his armory of passed on Riders' weapons was broken into.
Ester healed the wounded wild dragons, Jordan restored the forest to its former glory and I refilled the streams with fresh water.
All our work resulted in reviving of the beautiful land, breathing life back into Reason's kingdom.
