"What the actual hell is that?" I ask.
"Merkins. Basically merzombies who do think but have a much lower intelligence and Dark as hell. Also a few sirens, sea serpents, water leapers and Darkness influencing some merfolk." Ali summed up the enemies' army in a matter of seconds.
"Not much then?" Kyle grins.
"Darkness has a hard time finding water related allies," Aliyah winked.
"Why's that?"
"Not only are we the strongest, but we're naturally cleansing." I say.
"Are you sure?" Finn tried again.
"Stop." I snap, "I can see your weak attempts to secure my kingdom have not worked. We don't need backup. In case you forgot, I kinda control water and am floating in the waters that belong to me."
Finn sighed, "Your lives are important,"
"And they're perfectly safe. El no lo entiende, zverdad?" (He doesn't get it, does he?) Kyle laughs.
"De ningon modo," I smile. (Not at all.)
I took a second to admire my Sea Kingdom. It's not nearly the size of the Light Kingdom but still took my breath away. Aliyah told me Zayden had built it himself out of water which cannot be moved unless a Water Elemental decides to let them. The castle is gray, like Kyle's tail but lighter.
We're not too deep under water, light still seeps through the surface. I was told that at night the merpeople use jellyfish to light their way. The houses are made from sand, shells and such. It's like the Light Kingdom with all the little shops, except with an underwater theme.
I blocked off the connection I felt to the people and waters, knowing I wasn't ready for it. Now, I allow it to crash into me. I feel their pain, mourning, fear as they cower in their homes. Anger, hot and prepared to demolish, turns my face pink. If my people want to go out and buy whatever merfolk buy, then they should without Darkness hovering.
Both my Kingdoms root for Light and Darkness just stomped right on in under my nose. Not cool.
I will my spear to come and rise it in the air.
Before I could throw it, a gasp takes over. I float to the ground, grasping my throat.
"Melody!"
"Your highness."
"I swear, if you're dead,"
I let the vision cloud my eyes and laugh when it ends. I cannot tell you why. I laugh loudly, not caring about the merkin and other Darkness followers.
Then a sobering feeling overcomes me. I sit and pout, willing my brain into action.
"Loco," Kyle mutters.
Aliyah kneels beside me, "What did you see?"
"Reason, he's changed."
"How?"
"I think, I think he's learned to accept himself." I chew on my lower lip, "But that's not good."
Confusion rang in Seth's voice, "Not good?"
I tilt my head, thinking harder than I ever had, putting all my focus into Reason. "He is Light, he's denied it until now. Darkness could've had him most easily."
"And they no longer can." Aliyah started picking up my train of thought fairly well.
I nod, "That's a sure way to piss them off." I pause and ponder it one more time.
