The week had gone passed way too fast for my liking. I had barely gotten the rhythm of working in a school and it was already over, back to going to university. Xavier has not left me alone for the past few days. I am getting to the point of snapping when he becomes too overprotective. He's even gone as far to look up what temperature's to avoid while pregnant. Which is driving me nuts.
Google, is not your friend. Google, and other search bars, when you type in things to do with health, will scare you into thinking you're either dying or already dead. I put my feet up on the lounge as I get comfortable for the night. Xavier comes over and starts to massage my feet, causing me to sigh blissfully.
Just as I start to enjoy his foot rub, I start coughing. Xavier looks at me worriedly. He hands me a tissue and I continue coughing. And I have to admit, even I got slightly afraid.
Once it finally stopped, I pulled the tissue away and saw blood on the tissue. Just as I try to close the tissue so Xavier doesn't see, he pulled my hand closer to him.
"There's blood." He says softly.
"I know" I say just as quiet.
"Come on, let's get you to the hospital." Xavier says. I sigh, I would normally say no but even I know that coughing blood means a trip to the hospital.
Xavier helps me up off the lounge and gets my shoes for me. We go outside to the car and get in, heading to the hospital ER.
It took hours before a doctor saw me. When they did I had another coughing fit.
"What could be causing this?" Xavier asks worriedly.
"Well a number of things, such as having a bad chest infection, food scraping your throat on the way down it if isn't properly chewed, cysts, the more serious cases are lung or throat cancer but we can test for all of these things." The doctor says.
Xavier nods and takes hold of my hand. I keep my cool and try to calm Xavier. He's a worry wart. The chances are, it isn't cancer.
"Don't worry, chances are it's nothing too serious." I tell Xavier as I caress his cheek.
"I know, but I love you. I worry." I smile and press my lips lightly to his.
"I know and I love you too. But we will be okay." I say smiling. He sighs and smiles.
The doctor soon after, starts to run different tests and book for different tests for later dates as not all could be done in one go.
We get home and Xavier would not move from my side. He made me soup, and ran me a bath before we went to bed. As I fell asleep I could feel his eyes on me.
