*VAL'S P.OV.*

There was yelling. Yelling everywhere. The shrieking sound bounced off the walls like rubber bands coming back to slap you in the ears.

"You're worthless! A worthless slut that's nothing to me."

"Me?! You're the pathetic one! You hit because you're afraid of looking weak!"

What she said must have hit a nerve which resulted in a hit to her face. She yelped and fell to the floor. He jumped on her, straddling her hips, and began to slap her more and more.

"Stop! Stop!" She screamed.

"Help me! Get him off! Stop!" I found myself screaming out. I heard rustling and someone wrapped me up in their arms. They were warm and strong arms. I gasped and opened my eyes to see a man's arms, decorated with tattoos.

Mike. I sucked in air and pushed myself away gently. I crawled to the far end of the couch and saw everyone in the room staring at me. Jay was passed out on the other couch with a blonde girl I didn't know tending to his broken nose with a wet towel. Every so often she looked back at me with a worried expression.

Sam ran over to me and grabbed my face. "Val, are you okay?" Six pairs of eyes eyed me waiting for an answer. Unfortunately, my voice was trapped in the depths of my throat.

*MIKE'S P.O.V.*

I  was in the middle of beating up the shithead who regularly abused Val when I felt Vic and Tony pull me away.

"No! This asshole deserves to get a beating!" I tried to fight my way out of their arms but to no avail. Jay lay on the ground barely breathing, his nose oozing blood. I could hear Sam calling Val's name with worry thick in her voice. The three of us looked over to see that Val was lying on the ground with Sam scrambling to see what was wrong. I ran over leaving Tony and Vic to follow.

"What happened?" I crashed down to my knees beside Sam. She looked at me terrified for a bit before her expression changed to worry.

"When you went over and punch Jay, Val screamed and the next thing we knew she was on the ground." Sam looked heartbroken at the sight of Val lying there helpless.

"She probably passed out from all the quick stress." Vic spoke softly and looked at me. I swiftly picked Val up with no trouble and carried her inside. I motioned to Jaime to help Vic and Tony carry in Jay. Sam got me a wet cloth for Val's head and I sat next to her to wait for her to wake up.

After a few hours of worry and anger, Val started screaming.

"Help me! Get him off! Stop!" She seemed to be swinging at someone in her sleep. I ran over and held her in my arms. The moment I did she opened her eyes and pulled herself away. She sat the end of the couch staring at all of us.

Sam grabbed Val's face. "Val, are you okay?" We all waited for an answer we never got.

*SAM'S P.O.V.*

"Val, are you okay?" I asked her with worry and stared into her face. She wouldn't answer me so I tried again. "Val!"

Her faced showed her mentally snapping out of the trance she seemed to be in. "What?" At that moment she looked over and stared at Jay. Brittney was cleaning his nose off with a wet cloth and looking back at Val with worry.

"I... I need to use the bathroom." Before I could stop her, Val ran down the hallway and into the bathroom. I ran after and told everyone to stay behind.

"Val! What's wrong?" I stopped her from slamming the door in my face and walked inside, shutting the door behind me. Before I could gather myself she was in my arms crying uncontrollably. I let her sit there and cry on my shoulders. Eventually, she became tired and I slowly walked her to the bus to sleep in my bunk.

She looked over at me confused. "In case Jay wakes up." I whispered softly as if someone else besides her would hear me. She nodded and laid down and was asleep before her head hit my pillow.

I walked back into the house and was nearly tackled by Mike.

"Is she okay?!" He grabbed my shoulders and shook me lightly.

"Geez Mike. Calm down she's fine. She had a little crying session and now she's sleeping in my bunk. Give her some time before she explains herself. She probably doesn't believe you're real." I chuckled and pinched his arm gently. I felt him exhale and his body deflate with slight relief. I smiled and sat down beside Vic who looked more than happy to have me in his arms finally.

We watched Jaime and Tony carry Jay into his room and stand guard outside the door while Britt made some food. I kissed Vic on the lips and felt him smile halfway through.

"About time." He smirked and I lightly slapped his arm. We cuddled on the couch and talked about mindless little things. "When are we leaving with Val?" He eyed me questioningly.

"As soon as we get things figured out, babe. Then we'll leave." I smiled a small smile which seemed to satisfy Vic. He kissed me before lying his head down in my lap and falling asleep. Considering today's events I decided to nap also.

"Wake me up guys when you want to switch shifts!" I grinned at Tony and Jaime. Tony flashed me a thumbs up. I laid my head back on the couch and drifted off to sleep.
