So there I was, walking around in dark alleys with a black hoodie on, my hands stuffed in the pockets and the hood over my head. I had bagged a few kills already, and it was barely sundown. I guessed that it was their peak day. I always got more kills on Wednesdays, never understood it though. Anyway, I was just walking with my head down when I came to the end of an alley. I had to cross the street to get to the next one, so I lowered my head down even more and began to walk out.
It was a fairly popular area, which could mean trouble for some people if there were some level E's running about. The lights from the building was very bright, almost blinding. It reeked of vampire, and I knew that there were a lot of them. I was about to cross the street, when I heard a voice that made me cringe.
"Zero?" It was one of those questions that were asked for pointless reasons, because the answer was obvious. Reluctantly, I turned around to face the voice and I seen none other than Kaname Kuran. My eyes were hid by the hood of my jacket, so he could just see the little bit of silver hair that was sticking out. He was leaning against the building acting as if he weren't probably the most important vampire in the entire world.
"You know, I could technically consider you a threat." I said lowly and he chuckled. "I'm busy, I can't talk to you." I said and I began to walk away.
"But you just got here, you didn't even say hi." He said, feigning hurt but he was really just teasing me.
"Hi, now bye." I said with a shrug. I started walking, but noticed that he was following closely behind me. "What the fuck are you doing, Kuran?" I asked, using his last name like a curse.
"I'd like to see what kind of work you do. I've never been vampire hunting." He said nonchalantly.
"Why would you go vampire hunting? You're a vampire." I stated after I stopped to look at him. He chuckled and I had the urge to rip his hair out of his head, but it would grow back in less than an hour. Sighing, I turned and began walking again with him still behind me. "There probably won't be any around here since they can sense that there is a pure blood around here." I stated, hoping he would get the point that I wanted him gone.
"Yes but there are some vampires that can't be resisted. Some that are strong, powerful, and yet these weak beings, these sad excuses for vampires, still come after them because they can't resist." He said and I seen a level E lurking down the alley, so I took my Bloody Rose and shot him in the head. Kaname seemed a bit surprised that I did it so quickly.
"I don't know if you know these, your highness, but those sad excuses for vampires, they were created by your kind. So if it's anyone that you should be ashamed of, it's the pure bloods that can do that." I spat at him. He just crossed his arms and I proceeded to tag my kill.
"If someone else heard you talk to me like that-"
"Yeah yeah, they'd try to punish me. Guess what though, I don't give a fuck. Maybe I like punishments, who knows?" I said, making him narrow his eyes. I inspected my nails and leaned against one of the buildings. "Ready to fire me yet?" I asked, hopeful in a way. He scoffed at that.
"Why would I do that? You're still the best worker I have, so I guess I can overlook some of your negative comments." He informed.
"I don't know if you noticed but, literally everything that comes out of my mouth is negative." I joked, but it was pretty much true. "Were you waiting on me out there?" I asked after a minute of silence.
"I was hoping you'd come by, yes. I couldn't exactly catch your scent. You're very, how should I say, hidden." He said with accusing eyes. I snorted and shook my head at him.
"Maybe you need better hunting skills." I informed, making his eyes narrow and he seemed pissed.
"Or maybe you're hiding something from me." I rolled my eyes.
"Are you still on that? I mean honestly, we've been over this." I said, irritated that he brought that back up, but worried that he might be able to see through the seal.
"Shed your blood." He commanded and my eyes widened.
"W-what?"
"Not a lot, just a little prick. On your finger, I want to see what's wrong with it. Your scent is too weak to be normal. I'm slightly worried that you have a blood disorder." He said and I looked at him skeptically, to hide the fact that I was trying to keep him finding out what I was.
"No, I'm fine. You don't have to worry about it." I laughed nervously. He didn't seem to want to budge. "Look, I'm not a huge fan of blood. I don't like seeing it that much, so if I did that I might have a bad reaction to it." I lied, but I was okay with that if it saved my ass.
"But you're a vampire hunter." He stated blankly.
"Yeah, I close my eyes and shoot. Speaking of hunting, I need to keep going otherwise I'll let innocent people be bitten by those things. Bye!" I said and started jogging away. I could feel his stare on my back the whole time I ran. I didn't go back to hunt, I went to my apartment and I sighed once I was inside and had locked the front door. After I was sure that I was finally alone, I went to the bathroom and began the water for a nice warm shower. Once it was the right temperature, I stepped in.
I let the water run down my body and it immediately relaxed me. That's when I realized something crazy;
I was being hunted again.
Sorry this took so long to get out. I lost all motivation lol anyway I know it's slow but it will pick up eventually.
