Chapter 2

Drew's POV:

"Thank you." Kylie said, smiling at you. You just gave her a smile back. "No need to thank me." you answered. "But uhm, I gotta go. I'll see you later." you said, before heading off to your own classroom. When you opened the door to the classroom the whole class were staring at you. You were late. "Fuck." you whispered, knowing that Justin would kill you if he found out. "You're late Mr.McCann."

You sighed. "I'm sorry." you said, and sat down at the only seat that was left. The girl you sat down next to, moved a bit away from you. You shut your eyes closed, you hated when people made it obvious to you that you were unwanted. "Okay, since Mr.McCann here interrupted what I was saying, I have to take it all over again." Mr.O'brien said. You moisturized your lips with your tongue and sighed again. You just sat there, with your mouth shut, during the whole class. When the bell rang, you stood up, and sighed in relief and you were just about to leave when Mr. O'brien stopped you. "McCann." he said. "May I talk to you please?" You turned around and walked towards him. "Yes sir?" you mumbled. "This is the third time in a row you're late. So I have to give you detention." he said. "No!" you said quickly. "Please no, I'm sorry I was helping this new girl and-"

Mr.O'brien held his hand up, to stop you from continuing to explain why you were late. "No excuses, rules are rules. Here, your brother needs to sign this okay?" He handed you a pink detention note that Justin had to sign. "Okay." you whispered, and took the note in your hands. "Bye." you mumbled before leaving the classroom. You folded the note and put it in your pocket. "Justin will kill me." you said, sighing because you knew how this would end up. He would beat you, like he and Jason always did when you screwed up. And Jason would probably be high as fuck and beat you even more even when you begged him to stop. Derek would probably be at his girlfriends place, so he wouldn't be there to stop them. "Smooth Drew, that's exactly what you needed right now. Detention." you mumbled to yourself. You walked down the hallway, on your way to the gym. You had P.E today, and you weren't excited at all.

You were the first one there, because the other guys were probably with their friends for a short time, before they had to go to the next class. But you didn't really have friends, so you just went straight there, to the gym instead. You walked to your gym locker and took out your gym clothes. You wore a black long sleeved shirt, to hide your bruises. And over that you wore a red basketball shirt. You wore shorts, because it wasn't exactly suspicious if you had small bruises on your legs. And besides, no one cared about you anyways.

You sat on the bench, and pulled out your phone. You didn't really know why you had a phone, because you didn't really call anyone or text anyone. So it was really unnecessary for you to own a phone. You put it back in your bag again and plugged in your headphones to your iPod. You closed your eyes, and leaned your head against the wall. You shut the whole world out, and slowly faded away from reality. You were thinking about how your life would've been if you were like Justin, Jason or Derek. Your lips formed a small smile, and you just sat there. Peacefully listening to music, while drifting away in your daydreams.

Your daydreams were abruptly interrupted by some jock in your grade. "What are you listening to McCann?" he asked, grinning. He pulled out your headphones and put them on his own head. "What is this shit?" he asked. "Give them to me Jake." you said. "Or what?" he asked with a huge smirk on his face. "Just give em' to me." Jake laughed. "Nah. I don't think so." and with that said he dropped your headphones on the floor, and stepped on them. "Okay, there you go." he said, smiling as he handed you your destroyed headphones. You just looked at them. Music was your only escape and now that asshole took that away from you. "Aren't you gonna say thank you?" You rolled your eyes. "Thank you."

You had basketball today, which was the sport where your older brother Justin was the shining star. Your P.E teacher always compared you to Justin. And today wasn't exactly an exception. "McCann!" he yelled at you. "You're Justin's brother. Shouldn't you be good at this?" he screamed. "I'm sorry sir but I'm not Justin." you groaned. "Well apparently your looks are the only thing that runs in the family. You all look the same but Justin is the only one that can do sports." he muttered. You rolled your eyes. "I know Sir, you've told me a thousand times." you said. "Drop the attitude McCann."

You wanted to protest, because he was the one with the attitude. But you knew it would be no use, so you just shrugged your shoulders and kept on playing basketball.

After what felt like forever and class after class of people ignoring you, it was finally lunch. You sat down at an empty table and started to eat your lunch. "Hey.." you heard a voice say. You lifted your head up and saw Kylie standing there. "Hey." you said and smiled. "Can I sit here?" she asked. You nodded your head. "Of course."

"So why are you sitting here by yourself?" she asked. "Shouldn't all the girls be all over you? And actually kill for a seat next to you?" You burst out laughing and shook your head. "No, I'm basically invincible to them." She raised an eyebrow. "Really?" You were kinda surprised by how chocked she sounded when she said that. You nodded your head. "Yes." She gave you a half smile.

"Well, I can see you Drew."
