Chapter 23
Kylie's POV:
Today was the day. It was the 4th of July. There was gonna be a huge party over at the McCanns place, and you were invited. You had no idea what you would wear, or if you would go there by yourself. And to be honest you felt nervous about the whole thing. You sighed in frustration and ran your hand through your hair.
"Kylie!"
You stood up and walked to the door, you opened it slightly and poked your head out. "What dad?" you called. "Come down here, you've got a visitor." he answered. A visitor? Who could it be? Drew? He's the only one that knows were you live. Drew, and the other McCann brothers. That means.. Justin.
Your heart started pounding hard and you were terrified of walking downstairs. Your dad didn't know who Justin was, so he would easily let him in. You bit your lip, and walked down to the hallway. But you were actually surprised when you saw who stood in the door opening.
"Hey Kylie."
You couldn't help but smile. "Hey Stella." Your dad smiled a little, before he walked away, leaving you alone with Stella. "How did you knew where I lived?" you asked, walking towards her. She chuckled and held her arms out. You hugged her and she hugged you back. "Don't worry, I'm not a stalker. I asked Drew."
You chuckled and nodded your head. "Oh okay.." you mumbled and smiled at her.
"Soo." Stella said, smirking a little. She had something planned, and you needed to know what. "Since they're having a party today." she started. "Yeah?" you mumbled, raising an eyebrow. "I thought, we could go shopping. Just you and me, spending some time together, and getting to know each other better." she suggested. You lit up in a smile and nodded your head. "I'd love to!"
"So can I come inside or?"
"Yes, of course." you mumbled, and chuckled. You stepped back and Stella walked in. "Are you ready?" You shook your head. "I'm gonna get ready first. You can come with me to my room." you said, and walked towards the stairs. "Okay, great." she said, and walked after you.
You walked into your room and walked towards your closet. "Soo, welcome to my room. It's nothing special." She looked around, with her mouth slightly opened. "Are you kidding with me? Kylie I love your room." You chuckled and looked around. You had a bright room with white walls. And since you hadn't really lived here for a long time, you hadn't exactly had time to decorate it as you wanted. You had put up Christmas lights around the room. A few pictures were put up on the wall, and that was probably it. "It's not really that nice Stella." you said, chuckling. "Oh trust me, when you're done in here it will be." she said smiling. You nodded your head. "Hopefully."
Your eyes wandered around the mall. This was the first time you had been here. "Okay, so what do you wanna look at first?" Stella asked. You shrugged your shoulders. "I have no idea." you answered. "Hm.. How about we go look at dresses?"
You smiled a little. "Yes that sounds great." Stella nodded her head and grabbed your hand. "Let's go!"
You chuckled and held on tight to her hand. The store was filled with people, and there was plenty of dresses to choose from. "What are you wearing tonight?" you asked, and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. "To be honest, I have no idea. Any suggestions?"
You shook your head. "Hmm. Lets looks around and see." Stella nodded her head in agreement. "Sounds great."
You looked around the store and there wasn't exactly anything that caught your eye. "Let's go to the next store?" Stella suggested. You nodded your head and you wandered to the next store, and then to another one, and then to another one. "I'm tired of this." Stella whined. "We haven't found anything, and I'm hungry. Let's grab something to eat shall we?" You nodded your head. "Yes, shopping makes you exhausted. Even though we haven't gotten anything yet." A chuckle escaped her lips. "Finally somebody understands me! Here I know this great place." she said, and dragged you towards a cafe. You looked up at the menu, and there was so much to choose from. "I've decided." Stella said, almost as soon as you entered the cafe. How did she decide that quick? She noticed your facial expression and chuckled once again. "I'm here a lot. And let's say I have my favorites." she said, smiling. "Ooh." you mumbled, and chuckled at how stupid you felt, for not thinking about that before. "So what do you recommend?" you asked, and looked at the menu. "Well, their Oreo milkshake is amazing. If you like Oreos of course." You nodded your head. "That sounds great."
Stella smiled. "And their carrot cake is amazing too!" you smiled her. "Okay, I'll try it."
You got your orders and sat down at a table. "So Kylie." she started, and took a bite of her carrot cake. "Tell me about yourself." You put the straw between your lips, and took a sip of the milkshake. "Hmm. What do you wanna know?" you asked, and moved closer to the table. "Just tell me stuff, I'll gladly listen to anything and I appreciate any kinds of facts about you." she said, and took another bite of her carrot cake.
"Okay, well I'm 16. My parents are divorced. I have a brother named Liam, and he's in the military."
She looked at you with big eyes. "Really?" You nodded your head and took another sip of your drink. "Yes."
"How long has it been since you last saw him?" You bit your lip and shrugged your shoulders. "I don't know, I've lost count." Stella noticed how this subject wasn't exactly the smartest one to talk about, so she quickly started asking you other questions. "Favorite color?"
You smiled a little. "Orange."
She raised her eyebrows. "Orange? That's an unusual favorite color."
You smiled a little bigger, and nodded your head.
"Yes orange, like the sunset."
Stella lit up in a huge smile. "That's from the hunger games!" she outburst. You chuckled and nodded your head. "Exactly."
"Okay, are ready to go?" you asked, and stood up. "Yeah." she answered and smiled. You left the tray with your stuff, and walked out of the cafe. Stella got a text, and stopped. You stopped too, since you didn't want to go anywhere without her.
"I got a text from Drew." she started. You nodded your head. "Yeah?"
She shook her and and chuckled.
"Here." she said, and handed you her phone. //You better take good care of my girl! Are you having fun?//
You couldn't help but smile. "My girl?" you repeated. Stella giggled and nodded her head. "That's what he wrote." A guy your age, walked pass you two, and she stopped him. "Excuse me.." she said, waiting for him to say his name. "Christian" he said and smiled. "Christian, could you please take a picture of us?" You admired Stella's courage. You would never even dare talking to a stranger like that. "Yeah sure." he said smiling, as she handed him the phone. Stella took your hand and you stood by the sign of the cafe. "Okay. One two three smile!" And then you could hear him snap a picture. "There you go." he said, handing her back the phone. "Thanks." she answered. The guy just smiled at her. "Anytime." He answered and then he left. She sent the picture to Drew and wrote //She's in good hands. Don't worry ;)//
"Kylie how about that one?" Stella asked and held up a dress in front of you. "Yeah, that one is pretty. You'd look good in it." you answered. She walked around the shop, and as you met once again, you had both grabbed a couple of dresses. "Let's go try them on." You nodded your head and walked towards the dressing rooms. You got in the first one, and Stella got in the one next to it. You hung up your dresses and took of your clothes. You wiggled into the first dress. It was a peach colored dress. You examined yourself in the mirror. You kinda liked it, but it wasn't like "Wow, I'm in love with this." You walked out and Stella stood there in a white long sleeved, flowy dress. She looked gorgeous. She turned towards you and smiled. "What do you think?" You couldn't help but smile. "You look absolutely gorgeous Stella." she smiled and hugged you. "Thank you. I think I'm gonna go with this one." You nodded your head. "You totally should." She examined your dress and shook her head. "No, try on the silver one I showed you." You chuckled and turned around. "Okay." You went into the dressing room and wiggled out of the dress. You tried on the silver one, and it fitted you like a glove. It showed off your curves and you actually like the way it looked on you. "Kylie let me see!"
You pulled away the curtain, and walked out of the dressing room.
"I like it." you said, actually liking the way you looked. Stella lit up in a huge smile. "That's the one."
