Chapter 22
Kylie's POV:
It was getting late, and you were all done. "Let's pay the bill and get out of here? I'm exhausted. And so full." Derek said, putting his hands over his stomach. "Yeah and you're driving home so you better not fall asleep." Stella said seriously. "I won't babe don't worry." Derek mumbled, and kissed her. You smiled at them, they were so perfect. And they really deserved each other. You leaned against Drew's shoulder and smiled. They really loved each other. You wanted a relationship like that. You glanced up at Drew, thinking about what Justin said. 'Drew isn't the only one in this family, that's a gentleman.' Did that mean that Drew also could be like Derek? You wish.
A sigh escaped your lips and you closed your eyes. "Are you tired?" he whispered, causing you to open your eyes. You met Drew's beautiful brown eyes, and couldn't help but smile at him. "Yeah.." you whispered. He nodded his head and kissed your forehead. "We're gonna leave soon. Stay awake babe." he whispered. You loved when he called you babe. You and Drew were just friends. But when he called you babe, a warm fuzzy feeling appeared in your stomach. And you couldn't help it.
Derek's POV:
You waited for the bill, and this night was absolutely amazing. Everyone was having a great time, except for Justin of course. But he was always a party killer. At least when it came to family parties. "Babe." You turned against Stella, and smiled slightly. "Yeah?" you whispered, putting your arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to you. "Look at them." she whispered, nodding her head towards Kylie and Drew. "What about them?" you mumbled, looking into her beautiful eyes. Man, you could look into those eyes forever, and never get tired of the view.
"That's what I call skinny love." she whispered. You raised an eyebrow. "Skinny love?" Stella nodded her head. "Yeah.. It's when two people like each other. But they're too shy to admit it. Although they still show it. And Kylie and Drew, they're the definition of skinny love." You smiled a little. "Oh really? You think they have a thing for each other?" Stella nodded his head. "Yes, Derek it's obvious."
You chuckled and smiled. "Whatever you say babe." you mumbled, before pressing your lips against hers.
You could feel her lips turning into a smile, and she kissed you back. "Derek I'm serious, can't you see it?" she whined, as she pulled away from you. "Yes I can. But hey, if it's meant to be, it will be, right?" Stella nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah." she whispered.
You put the tip, next to the money and closed the bill 'case'. "Alright let's go!" You said, and stood up. You wrapped your arm around Stella's waist, and pulled her close to you. "Did you have fun?" you mumbled, hugging her from the side. She nodded her head. "Yeah. I'm a bit worried about Kylie tho." You smiled slightly. "Don't be, she'll be fine. It was probably just hormones. You know how you can rivers when you're on your period." you mumbled, and chuckled. She hit your arm, playfully. "What was that for?" you whined. She smirked and shrugged her shoulder. "I just felt like doing that."
Kylie's POV:
You walked out of the restaurant holding Drew's hand. Except for the whole Justin thing, this night had been great. Derek and Jason were both awesome guys. And Stella was just wonderful. You had a feeling you'd like being a part of this family. And Drew, he was simply amazing. "Hey Kylie what time is it? Drew asked, pulling you close to him. You reached for your purse, and panicked when you couldn't feel the leather against your fingertips. "Shit, I think I left it inside." Drew nodded his head and smiled at you. "Don't worry, I'll get it. Go ahead." He kissed your cheek before turning around and walking towards the restaurant. You smiled, a kind of 'oh god I am in love' smile. But you weren't in love with him, you were just friends. And that was how it would be for a long while "Hey Kylie."
