Chapter 6
Drew's POV:
You looked into Kylie's eyes, and felt your heart beating a little faster. "You want me to tell you about my family?"
She nodded her head eagerly and smiled at you. "Every little detail." she answered. You moisturized your lips with your tounge. "Okay, you asked for it." you mumbled and took a deep breath. "I live with my three older brothers. Justin is the oldest, Jason is the second oldest, and Derek is the second youngest. I'm the youngest." you started. "When I was 11 years old my parents died in a car accident. Our grandparents refused to take care of us, because we were so many. But they sent us money, and payed the rent and the bills. And they still do that. Justin had to take the role as a father, and he hated it. He hated not being able to hang out with his friends because he had to pick me up from school.." you mumbled. "I don't get along with Justin.. He's a real douchebag, he doesn't care about feelings and he's heartless. I despite him with all my heart. Jason is okay. He hangs out with the wrong people and do stupid things. He looses it when he's on drugs. And I kinda messed up yesterday, and he beat me up. He didn't mean to, he couldn't control himself. Otherwise he's a really nice guy, at least when it comes to family." you said.
Kylie didn't say a word, she just looked at you. So you decided to keep on talking. "Derek is the sweetheart in our family. He has nice grades, beautiful girlfriend, tons of friends and he's caring and loving. He always got me and my brothers backs no matter what. And then there's me. I'm a failure. People compare me to Justin and Derek 24/7. I'm not good at sports, and I'm not good at such things as math and stuff. And people can't even look at me. I'm a complete loser. I'm 16 years old and I've never kissed a girl. I'm 16 years old and I have never had a girlfriend. I'm like air to people, the only time they see me is when they hurt me. They do it physically and verbally. It's so sad to say this, but I'm used to it." you said.
You looked into Kylie's eyes, and they were filled with tears. She hugged you, and you didn't really know what to do. I mean you haven't been this close to a girl, ever. You wrapped your arms around her and hugged her tightly. "I'm so sorry." she whispered. You held her tight. "Why?" you asked. "I didn't know about your family. I shouldn't have asked." You just chuckled. "Babe it's fine." You stiffened when your realized that you just called her babe. You didn't mean to say that it just slipped out. You let go of her and nervously looked down. "I'm s-sorry.. I-I didn't mean to.." you stuttered. Kylie smiled at you. "It's fine, you can call me that. We're friends right? I might as well call you babe too." she said smiling.
You lit up in a huge smile. You could imagine how ridiculous you looked right now, with that stupid smile on your lips. But you couldn't help it. You had a friend. And you knew that she was a friend that wouldn't ever leave your side. You felt happy, you felt really happy that you had Kylie. And you thanked god for bumping into her a couple of days ago. "Drew can you hear me?"
You snapped out of your thoughts. "Huh?" Kylie laughed at how you were not paying attention to what she said. "I asked you what class you have after lunch." You felt your checks turning red. "Uhm.. Spanish." you said, and nervously scratched your neck. Kylie lit up in a smile. "Me too."
You walked into class and sat down at a seat in the back. Kylie sat down next to you and people were giving you weird looks. Only seconds after they were already whispering. Fucking idiots and their damn whispering. You hated it when they whispered about you, because it was so damn obvious that they were talking shit or spreading rumors. You just sat there quietly, and looked and Kylie. She just rolled her eyes, and mouthed the word "Idiots", which made a small chuckle escape your lips. People turned around and looked at you, trying to figure out what caused you to laugh. And then they turned again and kept on whispering. "Please let this class be over quick." you mumbled.
You walked out of the classroom, with Kylie by your side. "Okay so I heard this one kid saying that you were my boyfriend, and that's why I was sitting next to you at lunch and hugged you." she said. She rolled her eyes. "People are so judgmental. I mean c'mon, I just moved here! And apparently I'm not allowed to have a guy as my friend." a frustrated sigh escaped her lips. "People are stupid." you said. She looked up at you and nodded her head in agreement. "They really are."
Derek's POV
You walked down the hall, holding Stella's hand. She was talking the her friend, that walked with you. You didn't really mind, as long as you were with her it didn't matter if she didn't give you all of her attention. You spotted your younger brother, and he was walking with this girl. That caught your attention, since Drew usually walks by himself. They stopped at his locker, but kept on talking. The girl stood on the side of the locker, so you could eaisly see her face. She had long black hair, and beautiful hazel eyes. Her skin was evenly tanned, and she a beautiful smile. She wasn't tall at all. She was about 5'1, and it looked cute when she stood next to your brother. She only reached to a little above his shoulders. "Babe?"
You looked at Stella who was giving you a weird look. "Who are you looking at." You smiled at her. "I think Drew has a friend.. And it's that girl over there." He said smirking, and discreetly nodded his head at the direction of Drew and Kylie. Stella lit up in a smile. "Really?" she said, happy for your little brother.
She turned around and examined the girl. "She's beautiful." she said. You smiled. "And so are you princess." you whispered, and softly kissed her lips. Stella smiled against your lips. "I love you." she whispered. You smiled at her and pecked her lips. "I love you too."
You looked over to your brother and that girl again. "Look at the way he's smiling. He never smiles like that." he said. Stella grabbed your hand. "Aren't you happy that he finally has a friend?" You looked at her. "Of course I am. It's just sad that we can't make him smile like that." She kissed your lips. "Babe your situation is complicated." A sigh escaped your lips. "I know." Your smile quickly turned into a grin. "Okay I bet they'll be dating in like a month." Stella laughed at you. "Don't be that kind of brother now Derek." You smirked at her. "C'mon Stella, he's a McCann. I swear they will be a couple. Just wait."
