3rd Person P.O.V
The Curtis household was silent. The rest of Tulsa was either asleep or partying till they pass out. Darrel and Sodapop were both alseep, oblivious to the two love struck teenagers who were both nervous for the next day to come. Ponyboy and Riley tried to sleep, but their minds were both too busy thinking about one another to even put their minds to rest.
"Fuck," Riley cursed as her eyes flew open. It didn't take a wizard to notice she was a little bit off than her usual self. She had to call her best friend Toni. Toni was another fellow greaser but her family moved to California a year ago. Even though Toni, herself, was against it, she didn't have much of a say in it. So the two best friends were broken apart, leaving Riley all alone in Tulsa and Toni all the way to the sunny beaches of California.
While Riley was calling Toni, Ponyboy was freaking out for their date as well. Pony sat down at the edge of his bed and took a deep breathe, getting Sodapop's attention. "What is it Ponyboy?" Soda asked, sitting down next to him.
"Huh, sorry what?" The young man said as he snapped out of his daze.
Soda looked at his young brother weirdly, "Seriously Pony, are you okay?"
"Yeah, just worried about track season this year." Pony reassured Soda as he gave his older brother a small smile.
"Toni! Oh thank god you answered," Riley said as she sighed in relief.
"Hey, what's up Riley?" Toni greeted from the other line.
"I need to tell ya something Toni and I need your best advice on this," Riley said as she sat on her bed, crossing her legs.
There was a pause on the other line, "What is this about Rile? You in trouble?" A sense of panic washed over Toni.
"If you mean from my brother, maybe." Riley replied, rolling her eyes.
"What'd you do this time?" Toni laughed.
"Well I'm going on a date with Ponyboy today but I don't want Dally to find out," I said nonchalantly, checking out my nails.
"BITCH AND YOU JUST CALL ME NOW!" Toni yelled from the other line making Riley pull away the phone from her ear.
'Now this is a true best friend. The kind of friend who yells at you for not telling them your details of your personal life, cause they are a part of you whether you like it or not.' Riley thought, rolling her eyes with the thought of Toni jumping on her bed at the moment.
"Yeah, yeah. He kissed me yesterday and I kissed him back. It's no biggie," Riley said, trying to get her hyperactive best friend to calm down.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! I WILL FLY THERE RIGHT NOW IF I HAVE TO GET THE FULL STORY OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. BITCH TELL ME EVERYTHING!" Toni once again yelled through the phone, deafening Riley's ears.
Riley pursed her lips, silently laughing. "I'm not really worried about Ponyboy and I but I'm more worried about the gang finding out, especially Dallas. He'll flip out and kill Pony." She sighed, frustrated with her older brother.
"Damn right he'll kill Pony," Toni laughed. "I mean hell, I would kill him right now for stealing my best friend away from me."
