It was around five when everyone starting heading back home. Johnny, Ponyboy, and Riley walked together while the others took Two-Bit's car. It was their own choice to walk anyways. It started becoming a little colder as the sun started to set, which made her thankful so she wouldn't sweat much during the date. Ponyboy and Johnny were talking about socs but Riley absentmindedly blocked the two boys out, leaving her with her own thoughts. 'Wow, me and Ponyboy huh? Who knew?' Riley thought.

While she was in her own little world, Johnny and Ponyboy were just mindlessly talking about random things. "Guys we need to hurry up before any socs might jump us again," Ponyboy said as a worried expression appeared on his face. Johnny's heart instantly started beating fast, not noticing that he was speed walking. "Wait up Johnny," Pony called out. Suddenly, Pobyboy grabbed Riley's hand, intertwining his fingers with hers, and started running together catching up to Johnny. This gesture surprised Riley, hell it even surprised Ponyboy, himself. For some reason, this felt like a normal reflex for Pony. Riley grinned and gripped Pony's hand tighter, making him smile.

The soles of their shoes scraped against the pavement as they halted to a complete stop in front of the house. Johnny opened up the gate and walked up to the porch, ready to go in the house but stopped and turned around. Riley and Ponyboy immediately looked at him in a confused manner, still holding hands. "What is it?" Pony asked his best friend.

"You guys better keep your hands to yourselves before you go in," Johnny said with a chuckle before crossing the threshold.

"Oh," Riley awkwardly laughed before pulling her hand away from Ponyboy's grip.

"Thank god for Johnny," Pony said while giving out a small laugh. "Ladies first," Ponyboy said with a posh accent, opening the door for Riley.

"Why thank you dear sir," Riley said as she mocked his actions.

The pair went inside the living room where Two-Bit and Sodapop were having an arm wrestling contest and it looked like Two was winning. Darry was sat at his usual armchair reading a newspaper while Johnny sat down on the couch.

"Ah dang!" Sodapop groaned as he lost to Two-Bit, who was grinning proudly at his win.

"Well I'm just gonna go take a nap," Riley announced. No one seemed to care so she just turned around and whispered to Ponyboy, "See you at seven." Before walking to her room.

Johnny noticed the two exchange words before Riley went to her room. Johnny saw Ponyboy's grin as the youngest Curtis sat down next to him.

Riley's eyes started to flutter as she woke up from her nap. She looked at the clock as here eyes widened. 'Fuck, I only have like thirty minutes to get ready.' She thought, hauling herself up from her bed. "Hmm, let's see." Riley said out loud, grabbing a pair of white converse, The Doors band tee, and some jeans. She put on the clothes as she looked at the clock. 20 minutes. Riley quickly put her hair in a ponytail and wore some bracelets. 'Something's missing,' she thought. Pausing for a minute, then finally remembering. 'There, perfect.' Riley grinned to herself proudly as she looked at her eyeliner in the mirror. 'Right on time.'

Meanwhile in the living room, Johnny was still on the couch talking to Ponyboy. Darry was already fast asleep in his bedroom, tired from the long day of work. Sodapop was with Steve at some party somewhere in the greasers territory and for some reason, Darry allowed him to go. Dallas was probably at Buck's getting hammered and picking up broads. And Two-Bit went back home.

"So you ready?" Johnny asked with a smile. He looked at his best friend, waiting for a response.

"Ready as I'll ever be," Pobyboy chuckled. A few minutes later, Riley emerged from her room.
