55: Saving History

As the team of misfits, heroes, and villains entered the ship- they immediately tried to decipher a plan. Meg walked into Rip's captain's quarters to try and find any clues that could point them in the right direction.

Her eyes landed on a helmet- and although she knew Rip had a lot of junk in here- this just seemed out of place.

"Have you always had this helmet?" She asked, grabbing it as she walked back to the team. Rip looked at it briefly before shaking his head.

"No, it's just a-" he stopped, smiling- "Chronometric repositioning."

Rip took the helmet from Margaret, pulling out a small piece of paper from inside the helmet.

"Temporal changes can, on occasion, reverberate through the timeline, physically moving an object from one place to another."

Unfolding the paper, he revealed a location and date.

"Gideon?"

"Yes, captain."

"Plot a course for Saint Lô, France, 1944."

"Why then?" Meg asked, raising a brow. Rip shoved the note back into the helmet and places the thing on a nearby table.

"Because that is where Kendra and Carter are."

"How is that possible?" Ray asked, quirking a brow.

"Kendra sent us a message through time." Rip said as they all strapped themselves in- preparing for the rocky jump back in time.

"Go ahead, say it." Jax said to Stein, who looks like a kid at Christmas.

"Astonishing!" The scientist exclaimed, eyes lit up like the Fourth of July.

Meg was surprised at how easily they were able to travel to Saint Lô, and although they had traveled back in time quite significantly... there were no side effects.

Well... they were probably all used to it by now.

"Captain, we have arrived at Saint-Lô. Although I couldn't locate Kendra, I have found Savage. He doesn't appear to be alone this time." Gideon informed the team.

"Okay- here is the plan. We distract Savage and the Nazis, locate his time ship, grab Kendra and Carter, and leave." Rip explained.

"Dude- you need to stop making plans. Nothing goes according to them." Jax chuckled as he merged with Stein.

"Fine then. Just try and get Kendra and Carter back to the ship. But we need a distraction in order to do that."

"Still a plan."

"No- it's a strategy."

"Guys." Meg interrupted, sighing, "World War II is gonna end by the time you guys stop bickering. We know what to do." She chuckled. As she exited the Waverider, Ray easily caught up to her.

"Never thought you'd be so eager to fight with a Nazi." He said.

"Well- I guess that's my life now. Fighting stupid soldiers throughout time. It's your life too." Meg shrugged her shoulders, a smile spread on her lips.

Some shouting in German could be heard in the distance. Ray patted the redhead's shoulder before taking off in the air.

"Get ready to live your life then, Meg."

As a few Nazis approached Meg, but she quickly blasted them away with a ball of light, knocking them out. She easily found Savage- who was shocked to see the meta fighting against him.
