In the Boarding House, Stefan and Damon stand either side of the Living room, tossing a football back and forth. Amelia is laid on the couch, her phone in her hands as she texts Caroline and Bonnie, vaguely paying attention to the Brothers conversation.
"So what has it been, 8, 9 days ?" Damon asks, as he tosses the football to Stefan, who catches it with ease.
"About 8 or 9 days" The Youngest nods unsure "I don't know, I lost count"
"Wait, we were supposed to keep count ?" Amelia pipes up with a smirk, earning a eye roll off the pair.
"We lost count of the consecutive number of days in which Elena Gilbert has not killed anyone" Damon announces, catching the football that Stefan tosses to him "I'd say that's progress, brother"
Before they left Willoughby, Elena made it clear that if they continued to try and get her the cure, she would kill people as a consequence. Just to prove how serious she was, she snapped a waitresses spine int he middle of a diner. Amelia was surprised when she found out, but that soon wore off, knowing she should of seen a murderous streak coming sooner or later.
"So, what are we gonna do ?" Stefan asks, glancing between the pair "Just throw the football around for another 150 years till Elena gets her humanity back ? Because I'm cool with that"
"I'm not sure what else we are supposed to do" Amelia points out "As I'm not gonna spend time digging numerous graves, for all of the people she kills"
Damon nods his head in agreement, looking at his brother "She doesn't want the cure. She's gonna start killing people if she knows we're still trying to get it for her"
"Alright. We could always, uh, make her want it ?" Stefan then suggests.
"Yeah" Damon deadpans, giving Stefan a look "How are you gonna make an emotionless Vampire want anything ?"
"Get her to flip her switch" And Amelia just snorts.
"We may have an easier time forcing the cure down her throat" She states, narrowing her eyes at Stefan and Damon "How do you propose we get her switch flipped ?"
"Pull a Lexi; Bombard her with emotions till one sticks" The Eldest Brother guesses, and Stefan nods.
"Yeah, and if that doesn't work, then we go to plan b.... Lock her up and keep her sidelined until we figure out a plan c" He tells them seriously.
"And what happens when she get slammed with every emotion she's suppressed since Jeremy died ?" The Eldest points out, knowing all of it will cause the Doppelganger another break down.
Stefan glances at Amelia, who is once again distracted by her phone, sort of wary of saying this around her "Well, then you, my friend, will be right by her side to help her through it" He says simply, and Amelia hides a scowl at this statement, pretending to be paying no attention.
"Right, because you don't want to keep reliving History" Damon sighs "And when this is all over, you're just gonna get out of her life ?"
"Bingo"
"Alright. How do you want to do this ?"
*************
Chaperoning a High School Prom, was not how Amelia wanted to spend her evening, but she had no choice in the matter. The Prom, was what they were gonna use to get Elena's emotions back, and they were hoping it would work. So, she was currently digging around her wardrobe, trying to find something suitable to wear.
"Found a dress yet ?" A voice asks, and she turns to see Damon stood in the doorway, already in a very a smart looking tux.
She looks him up and down, biting back a smile at how good he looks, before her eyes land on the dress bag in his hand "No, but I get the feeling you found one for me" She muses, nodding to the black zipper bag.
