On a secure gurney, Amelia laid unconscious once again, strapped down as tight as possible. As she looked to her left, she saw Elena was beginning to stir beside her, trapped in the exact same way. Looking to her right, Enzo was no longer there like before, and Amelia was positive she hadn't imagined him.

Enzo was alive, but Maxfield had moved him, it was the logical explanation.

When Wes walks in, he notices the two Vampires are conscious and immediately gets to work. Starting his voice recorder, he holds puts it down on a metal table, before walking over to Amelia's gurney. He stands looking over at her, and she glares daggers at him almost instantly, wincing when he shines a bright in her.

"Subject 831283 appears fully conscious" He says to the recorder, finally turning off the light he was shining her eyes. He then takes a needle from the table, and injects it into a vein in her arm, and she hisses as he draws blood from her "Blood sample taken for testing. Now prepping for Vervain detox"

"What ?" She questions in panic, and starts struggling in her restraints again "Wes, stop, stop. Let me go, you don't have to do this" 

But he ignores her, gathering the needed equipment before inserting a cannula into her arm, and attaching it the Vervain water bag. It doesn't take long, until the Vervain begins to take effect on the girl, and she slips out of consciousness once again. Wes then turns to Elena, and begins to examine the Doppelganger.

"Subject 83182 appears conscious" He says to the recorder, as Elena looks from side to side at their surroundings, a familiar feeling coming to her as she does.

"Where are we ?" She questions, unable to shake the feeling.

"Why ?" Maxfield fires back "Looks familiar ?"

She then begins to grow panicked, as she sees all of the machines surrounding her "What is that thing ? What are you doing to me ?"

"83182 resume prep for blood dialysis"He then places mask over the Doppelgangers face "Count from 10,9,8,7,6,5.." Elena passed out before he hit one, whatever he was doing to her taking immediate effect.

"4.1 pints drained. 83182 still shows signs of consciousness" Wes says aloud, looking at Elena and the bag full of her blood beside her "Note that 15 years ago subject 12144 faded into unconsciousness after 2.9 pints. Evolution or luck ? Mystery for another day"

He then walks over to Amelia, who's bag of Vervain water is completely drained, and is now beginning to stir awake with a groan "Subject 83183 is beginning to show signs of consciousness, after 2 pints of the Vervain solution. The most any subject has been able to take yet"

"What are you doing to us ? What are these tubes ? Let us go !" Elena demands, weakly moving around on the gurney to get free, but unable to do anything.

  "Relax" Wes tells her calmly "I plan to once I'm through with you"

"Our friends are gonna find us" She hisses.

"Your heroic Vampire friends ? Did you know Aaron Whitmore spent his entire life thinking his family was haunted by some death curse ? Turns out it was just her boyfriend" Wes begins, nodding over to Amelia who weakly glares at him, now awake fully once more "Systematically killing everyone on his family tree. I'm curious. How does one justify that in her mind ?"

Amelia rolls her eyes "If Dr Whitmore was as bad as he told us, and the rest of Aaron's family are anything like him or you, I'll help Damon kill the rest of them" She spits venomously.

"And this" Elena cuts in "Holding people against their will, how do you justify that ?"

Wes simply ignores her, walking over to table holding a open journal, and picking it up "June 25th, 1999. Incredible findings today. After enduring 3000 volts of electricity, the subject continues to have a heartbeat. June 26, more success. Subject was exposed to 4000 volts today. Seizing continues after electrocution. Flesh remains hot to the touch"
